"Come on, people! Let's move it! Move it!" Gemini shouted towards the front of the long line.

Fish Camp had arrived, which meant that hundreds of freshmen were crowding into five lines to pick up their schedules. People were screaming at one another to either shut up or hurry up and others were just standing in a corner waiting for the tempest to pass. To say that it was hectic would be an understatement.

"Gem, calm down. We'll get there in a couple of minutes," Chloe urged her friend to cool her jets, but it was to no avail.

"A couple of minutes? Try a couple of hours. If people would freakin' move faster I wouldn't have to yell at them!" Gemini's voice increased in volume as she shook her fist towards the front of the line.

"Chloe! Gemini!" Shannon shouted in greeting to her friends. She grabbed Christian's hand and ran over to them, but took careful care not to mess up her carefully-styled hair or brand-new outfit. "This is a mess, isn't it?"

"To put it lightly, yeah," Chloe rolled her eyes. Then she turned to Christian and smiled. "So how did it go? Is everything settled now?"

"Yes, thank goodness. They gave my mom full custody, but they're going to have to work out a visitation schedule for Dad. I think it's all working out for the best," Christian admitted. "But that drama is finally over! Now I can get everything ready to start our first year of high school."

"Correction, my dear friend," Gemini wagged her finger at Christian. "We are not in high school. We are in the Upper School."

"Same difference," Christian replied hastily, then laughed. "This is so screwed up it's not even funny."

"Where's Becca?" Chloe asked.

"She said she'll be along in a little bit. She was exhausted from staying out late with Shannon and me partying and stuff, so we decided to let her sleep in."

"Oh, yeah. We had to party before today, because we knew it'd be especially stressful. Look, we're moving towards the front!" Shannon exclaimed then clapper her hands in joy.

"It's about time!" Gemini yelled, then became contented with just sulking.

The group of four separated into their lines, since the schedules were arranged alphabetically. Those who had returned home for the summer were seeing their friends for the first time in over three months, so everyone was quite excited.

Chloe spotted Kate in the line next to her. "Kate! Kate! Over here!"

Kate turned and waved wildly at Chloe. "I'm so nervous! I hope I get in some classes with you!"

Chloe gave her a thumbs up, then broke out into a fit of laughter.

"Well, hello, stranger," Zach walked up to Mel and gave him a pat on the back.

"Zach! It's been a while, hasn't it?"

"Oh, yeah. How've you been?"

"Just ready to get back to school. Hard to believe, eh?"

Zach chuckled and patted Mel on the back. "Yeah, man. Real hard to believe for the self-proclaimed bookworm."

"Hey, now."

"Yo, yo, yo!" a voice greeted them from behind.

Zach turned around, then smiled at his roommate. "Sloane! Man, what's up?"

"Just ready to see what the order is of the classes I'm gonna fail," Sloane slapped hands with Zach and then Mel. "What's up, smart guy?"

"Just chillin' until they decide to hand me my slip of paper. I wouldn't say that about failing, though. This could be a good year, you know."

Sloane's eyebrows raised as if he were questioning Mel's sanity. "Um, yeah. Whatever you say."

Mel shrugged and put a hand on both Zach and Sloane's shoulder. "This is it, boys. Let the games begin."
