Episode 62: Scene Five
"Okay, is this Vanderweisel's class? Goodness, why can't they just put the room number right next to the course name? Sheesh!" Shannon was tempted to throw her schedule on the ground and stop all over it.
"Calm down. You've gotta breathe, Shan. You've gotta breathe!" Chantal teased, then looked down at her schedule and then up at the room number by the door. "Yep, this is her class!"
"Thank the Lord. Now, let's move onto second period," Shannon said, walking down the long, empty hallway.
The group of young ladies followed her as she attempted to navigate looking down at her schedule and then up at the hall numbers. Shannon turned down one hall, then quickly made a left down another sub-hall, and then a right down yet another sub-hall. The process of turning down sub-halls continued until all of a sudden, they reached a dead end.
"Okay, this doesn't look like Mrs. Thames's classroom," Gemini pointed out, then leaned up against the wood-finished wall.
"How very observant," Shannon sneered, then turned back to her schedule. "Okay, how did we end up in the 700s when we're supposed to be in the 100s?"
"I told you we should have turned back at the hall with the monkey piņata at the front of it," Chloe snapped, folding her arms and turning away from Shannon.
"You didn't either! You were telling me I should follow the group of football guys, who were going in the opposite direction of where we were supposed to be going."
"What can I say? They're like magnets," Chloe shrugged and began walking back down the hall.
"Okay, instead of arguing, let's find a way out of here," Becca suggested. "We know we're in the 700s hall, and we know that the hall numbers go in descending order from left to right. If we get out of this hall, we can probably find our way back."
"Good thinking, Beck," Kate praised, then began walking towards the hall opening. "Come on, peeps. We have a school to get un-lost in."
"How did we get ourselves in this mess?" Chloe whined to Gemini.
"Because of No-Listen Shannon over there. She can tune out faster than the local AM radio station!" Gemini whispered back.
Shannon walked up behind them. "I heard that!"
