Lost Coaster of Superstition Mountain Construction
1-28-02 Pictures- The Beginning
Here's the newest part to date of LCOSM.
Old track being dismantled.
An old curve which goes outside of the structure.
Heavy duty work being done. I picked a day in January in which is about 50 degrees and very sunny.
The Lost Coaster will be opening May 17th and workers are working hard to get it done.

This is the outside of the structure, and there is the pretty new vertical lift system.
Here's a photo taken from the middle of the concrete pad the lift is on.
This is part of the Horseshoe Curve on the first level.
This is one of the soon to be famous 6 foot radius turns on the first level.
This is a view looking out toward the train which was recycled from the old Superstition Mountain.
The rotating drum which was also reused from the old ride. Also, for those of you wondering, that is Tom Spackman Jr's arm.
Here's a neat little part on the second floor. It has a little dip inside of a about 10 foot hole which was kind of scary to cross.
This is the opposite side of the last photo.
Here's a close up shot of the little dip on the second floor.
This is a intense looking little curve on the third level.
A neat "S" curve which will go into a 6 foot radius curve which will then go into a double down located on the 3rd level.
A close up of the last shot.
This is a picture of the lift from the same position.
Chaos with tarp for the off-season.
The very wet midway with the "naked" Paratrooper in the back.

The Lost Coaster may still have been lost on the 17th but they still cut the ribbon at the media day ceremony.
The Lost Coaster consists of two car mine trains. There is still some work to be done for the station.
Here's a close up of one of the mine cars.
Here's a few shots from the Skyride of the outer work of the coaster. You can see the triple up on the other side of the mini lagoon.
A little bunny hop before it goes in the curving turnaround.
This is the turnaround section.
Another angle of the last picture.
Some curves before the bunny hop into the turnaround.
A swoop turn into a little bit of the mountain structure and curving back up.
Vertical lift, a little bit of the station, and some curves.
One thing I find neat about the coaster is that they built onto the old Superstition Mountain curve around the lagoon.
7-6-02 Photos- The End
It is finally done folks! Sadly this is CCI's last completed coaster project (New Mexico's is being finished in-house).
One of the most unique features of the ride, the hydraulic elevator lift.
Side view of the lift and some of the circuit after.
Going through the turnaround, the smoothest part of the ride aside from the lift.
There's some some bunny hills near the beginning that really jolt you around in your seat.
After the lift you go into a little turnaround into a quick turn into a few hills. This ride is a real bone rattler as signs at the front of the sign insinuate.
