Iowa City and Moscow and Cedar Rapids

I'm no longer maintaining public links to any privately held land in Iowa, unless the following conditions are met:

1. The landowner personally must call me to give permission.
2. The climber/landowner/photographer must be able to provide me with a signed property release.
3. A liability form exempting the landowner from any liability from the result of injury must be available at the location for climbers to fill out, this form must be a required condition for climbing on that land, and a secure location must be available to deposit the form.

Why am I doing this?

Because I make no money from this website, don't live in Iowa anymore, and don't have the time to check up on everyone's climbs on private property. I have also found that most land owners in Iowa have a fear of the liability that they will be placed in if a climber is injured on their property. Although, it is my understanding that Iowa law somewhat protects landowners in this manner. By meeting the conditions described above, I hope to head off any future problems before they happen.

The best thing you can do, is take a landowner out climbing with you and show them how fun it is.
