The run on the lower Popple starts (just downstream of the gauge and put-in) with Little Bull Falls. This short, curved ledge drops into a shallow boiling pool, but should cause boaters no problem at most water levels. |
The other named drop on the first part of this run is Big Bull Falls. An island splits the river. The left side (pictured above left) is a grungy four-foot pitch . The right side (above right) steps down two short ledges into the pool below. |
The lower part of the run contains the two best drops. Washburn Falls (pictured above left) is a sweet, long (for this run) sequence of ledges and slides. At good boatable water levels (vidcap being at summer minimums), this should provide some play opportunities. |
