The day became warm and sunny, and we decided that we would stop on the side of the road (well back from the road) and spread our gear out to dry while we napped. That lasted about 20 minutes before Border Patrol decide to harass us for a while. I don't like being woken up by a man with a gun. He eventually told us that while it wasnt illegal to nap in the grass there, he wouldn't recommend it. (Read, he would harass us all day) So, we packed up and left. After brief stops in Alexandria Bay and Ogdensburg, we made it to Massina, NY at sometime in the middle of the night. We learned something very imprtant that day. Never, ever, under any circumstances, ask for directions from an American. Perhaps it's a language barrier, but 4 seperate people gave us 4 seperate directions to the same place, all of which got us completely lost.

On to Day 4
