My Artificial Family

June 09-- I've been pretty busy lately. I finally got my new Artificial Family webpage up and running. Sam and I got a new kitten last week. Her name is Anya, because Sam didn't like my suggestion of Meow Tse Tung. We've had 2 weeks off from footy, and the next game is at home vs. Walcha.

June 12-- Things have slowed down a bit here. I've been feeling pretty run-down. I had a strange dream about dying both last night and the night before. I dreamt I died, but in the blink of an eye I was being born again as a baby, though I was aware that there was a long time between my death and re-birth. It seemed like the time in between was like sleeping and time passed without noticing. I'm starting to feel home-sick. I miss Montréal in the summer. I notice myself constantly comparing things here to things at home, and I rarely seem satisfied with things here. I like this country, but I need to stop comparing it to home. I've been pretty depressed lately, and I'm not sure why.
June 22-- I've been doing some work At JC's farm, spraying weeds around the olive trees and checking on pig traps. I get to make my First Grade debut tomorrow against Inverell. I also get to look forward to a 4 hour trip there and a 4 hour trip home for one 80 minute game of rugby. Oh well. I got a package from Mark and Kiley the other day. They sent me Maple Leaf cookies and Cinnamon Toast Crunch cereal and Dentyne gum. I wanted to get Romper Stomper on DVD for Kiley, but they don't sell it in Australia. Strange, seeing as it's an Australian movie.
June 24-- I had a run with the First Grade squad yesterday. We lost to Inverell, but the game was closer than the scoreboard showed. I was surprised to find myself mentioned in the Rugby column yesterday morning. It stirred enough interest that I was interviewed by a writer from the Leader and a reporter for an Inverell radio station after the game. I was awarded my first points for playing well. Not bad, for my first game.

June 27-- It's been a bit of a stressful day. Last night on the way home from footy training, I hit a Kangaroo. The car is pretty badly smashed up, and Sam and I are left without a vehicle. I went to work this morning, and I was supposed to be helping move some dead pigs into a pile so we could burn them. I promptly threw-up, twice. Now I found out that my dad has sent my Bass over (at last) but that it probably cost him $600. If he had kept in touch with me through e-mail he would have known that I was talking to Air Canada, and they could have done it for a lot less.
