In the 1980s

Regional Manager SEA - Bellamy Imports & Exports (Aust) - My responsibilities is to ensure produce of Australia is export to Malaysia and the S.E. Asian markets, Liason with the Australian Trade Commissioner and local businessmen, imports of parallel lines as well as "Robert Tims" Coffee.

Manufacturer Agent - Syarikat Perniagaan Kamil - Main focus of the agency is to source for products which is needed by Malaysians but far more importantly it is to seek out export opportunities for Malaysians. The year 1983, fax machines were unknown and the most effective way then was the telex, Our focus products were Food Stuffs and Rubber Gloves at the time. 1983 Whilst seeking out for exports for Malaysians I was appointed Managing Director for Primeline Malaysia - a "demonstration" company. This is to say that instead of letting a product sit on the shelf, we take it out of it's box and show what the product is capable of doing for the consumer. I then set up KC Marketing Sdn Bhd and developed a few lines that took the Malaysian retail market to the next level. I invite any Malaysian Manufacturer or "Inventor" of Household Electrical or Utensils to meet up so we can explore how your product will increase three fold in sales.  

 1984 -  I signed up as an Insurance Agent with Aetna Universal Life (now ING) Insurance is a small part of Financial Planning. You really don't want to know how I did but you would be interested in how far the industry have gone and today what it can offer you. Basically there are 5 accounts you keep. First the Bank Account, Investment Account, Insurance Account, Wealth Accumulation and Finally your Will (Wasiat)  and your Advisor Account. If you are already very rich, there will be areas where you don't need insurance. I never sell insurance, I only help people to buy! You know what, the majority of people do want insurance, they just don't know how to "buy" or secure insurance.

1985 - FMCG - The highlight of this decade had been when I was involved in distribution of household products, costume jewellery and writing material. I imported these products, gave them a name (branding) and demonstrated them in departmental stores and strategic locations. The company traded over 4.5 million ringgit within a 9 months period.  1987 I set up SPK Consultants - a Performance Development & Training firm comprising of various professionals which includes but not limited to, Accountants, Investments and Lawyers.

 1989 I worked as a negotiator for Desa Estate - a subsidiary of Tan & Tan Development Sdn Bhd. I negotiated and sold many units of Desa Angkasa and Desa Kudalari, Basically this is a selling job.
