##PERSON##

As a Libertarian running for the office of ##OFFICE## I agree with all the positions defined by the Libertarian Party Platform. The issues that follow are from the Libertarian platform as of the year 2000.

War on Drugs?
End it NOW!

This includes legalizing marijuana and all other drugs. The drug war is a war on both a war on the Bill of Rights and a war on American Citizens.

Victimless Crimes
Repeal the laws!

The Libertarian platform also demands that all victimless crimes be legalized. This includes legalizing sex acts between consenting adults, gambling, crimes making being homeless illegal, viewing, selling or making pornography and other so called victimless crimes. This would end the government's insane and unconstitutional wars on prostitution, homosexuality, pornography, and victimless crimes where the government is jailing consenting adults for harmless acts the do in the privacy of their own lives.

If your religion or personal beliefs cause you to consider these things crimes that's fine. Then in your personal life you should not do these things and encourage others not to do them. But it's not the government's job to force these religious and personal views on society.

What I'll do to fix things

While I can't guarantee that I'll be able to repeal all these evil laws I'll try the best I can to repeal them. But if I can't repeal these laws I certainly will throw a monkey wrench into the governments efforts to enforce them.

If I'm elected to an office that gives me the power to pardon people I will issue blanket pardons for all people arrested or convicted of these victimless crimes.

If I'm elected to a job such as a Police Chief or Sheriff which enforces the laws I will order my officers to stop arresting and harassing people for committing these victimless crimes and demand that they spend the taxpayers money on hunting down real criminals such as robbers, thieves and killers.

And if I'm elected to a prosecutor's office I will simply refuse to prosecute people arrested for these victim less crimes.

If elected to a Judges office I will simply drop the charges of any one appearing before me for these victimless crimes because the laws are unconstitutional.

Fees for Government Services?

Only criminals steal. Honest people make their money either by providing services or goods to customers who willingly pay for the services or goods. The government should be the same way.

The only honest fair way for the government to collect money should be by charging User Fee's to its willing customers for the services or goods it provides. Taxes where the government taxes money from one person and gives it to another person is unfair and really theft.

Some Examples:

People who willingly choose to send their mail thru the government post office should pay the government for the services it provides. At the same time people should be free to send their mail thru any other company that can provide better or cheaper mail service then the government post office.

People who willingly choose to have their children educated in government schools should pay the government for the services it provides. At the same time people should be free to have a private school educate their children if a private school can provide better or cheaper services then the government school.

People who have a government-zoning inspector to verify that their new home was built safely should pay the government for the services provided. At the same time people should be free to pay a private engineering company to inspect their home if the company can do it better or cheaper the government.

Private citizens who have an interest in the out come of a problem can generally solve the problem in better and less costly ways then some uncaring government bureaucrat who doesn't have an interest in the out come of the problem and gets paid regardless of weather or not he solves the problem.

Taxes are nothing but theft where the government steals money from one person and uses the stolen money to provide services or goods to a different person. The only honest government is a government that gets it money is by charging for services it provides.

Religion & Government Don't mix
Keep Them Separate

People have the right to practice whatever religion or lack of religion they choose. The government has no right enacting and enforcing the laws of any religion. Nor should the government be allowed to discriminate against any person on the basis of religion or lack of religion. Nor should the government be allowed to provide special benefits to any person or group on the basis of religion or lack of religion. If elected I'll try to either repeal or refuse to enforce any religious laws the government has. This includes the so call blue laws that ban certain activities on Sundays.

People should be responsible for their actions

While libertarians think you should be free to do anything you want to do as long as you don't violate your neighbors rights Libertarians also think that people should be accountable for their actions.

If you pollute your neighbor's air, water, or land, harm his children, damage his car you should be accountable for your actions and be required to pay your neighbors for damages done. While Libertarians do argue that people should be able to smoke marijuana we have never argued that people should be irresponsible and unaccountable for their actions. We want to live in a safe free world like you too.

Right to the pursuit of happiness

You have the right to pursuit of happiness but if you cant acquire it thru hard work or even just dumb luck you don't have the right to use government put a gun to your neighbors head and demand that your neighbor wages be used to make you happy.
