Welcome to Dansm's Guitar Chord List. My name is Dan Smith, I'm a first-year grad student at Harvard, and I've been playing guitar for 5 years now. This page provides a comprehensive list of all important guitar chords. If you don't understand the notation I use, check out my explanation of chord notation. To better understand why these chords are formed this way, check out my page on Guitar Chord Theory. to fret the sixth string. When this is necessary, I have indicated it
with (thumb on 6th).
