Mrs. B. M. Brown
The subject of this sketch was one of the pioneers of this
district, having lived in this community nearly fifty years.  Margaret Hay
Brown, who died on Wednesday, Nov. 17th, was born at Warwick, near London, eighty-seven
years ago.  Her earlier life was spent in teaching school, until her marriage
to the late B. M. Brown, who predeceased her nine years ago.
After her marriage at Christmas, 1873, she came to reside on the Brown farm on the
ninth concession, just north of the village.
Here they remained until they gave up farming, and moved to Brownsville twenty-two years
ago.  Mrs. Brown was of a very quiet, retiring disposition, but those who knew
her best will remember her as a noble, upright, loving, christian mother and friend.
She was a member of the Baptist church and always interested in its work
and progress.
The funeral took place on Friday last from her late residence
to the
Baptist church for service, and thence to the Delmer cemetery for
interment.

Rev. J. B. Moore of Waterford assisted Rev. Mr. Cunningham at the church services.
She leaves one son,
Rev. Wm. J. H. Brown of Toronto, and
four stepchildren, Henry W. of Tilsonburg, Edward D. of Ann Arbor, Mich., Mrs. (Dr.)
Sage of Janesville, Wis., and Mrs. Monroe of Detroit.
