Baptist Minister is Called by Death
The Rev. W. J. H. Brown, a former resident of Brownsville, died in St. Joseph's
Hospital, Guelph, on Monday.  He was the son of the late
B. M. Brown and grandson of the late
Brinton P. Brown, a pioneer of this district, from whom
the village of Brownsville took its name.  The Rev. Mr. Brown spent his early life in the village and
married Miss Bessie Moore, daughter of the late
J. B. Moore, who at one time was pastor of the Tillsonburg
and Brownsville Baptist church.  He
had been a Baptist minister 40 years and had held pastorates at Brownsville, Dundee, Mich.; Bowmanville,
Hamilton and at Annette Street Baptist Church, Toronto, holding the latter post 23 years.
His wife predeceased him some years ago.  Surviving are two sons,
Rev. W. Gordon Brown, of the Toronto Baptist Seminary, and the Rev. L. Douglas Brown, assistant rector
at St. George's Anglican Church, Guelph.
He was one of the many outstanding boys of Brownsville to win distinction
in their chosen field of activity, and many friends will regret to learn of his death.
