Mrs. Carrie J. Jackson, widow of Dr. George H. Jackson, former resident of Port Stanley, passed away at the Glencoe Nursing Home on Wednesday morning after ailing for some time.
Born at Brownsville 85 years ago, Mrs. Jackson was the daughter of the late Enoch Brown and Maria Williams, early residents of the Brownsville district.  Most of her life was spent in Union and Port Stanely where her husband was a well-known physician.  He had practiced for 49 years.
Mrs. Jackson was a member of Port Stanely United Church and had always been active in the work of the church.
Mrs. Jackson is survived by one daughter, Mrs. William A. (Georgina) Kennedy of Hanover, Ont., and grandchildren Carol and Stewart Kennedy, of Hanover.
At rest at the P. R. Williams and Son Funeral Home from where the funeral service will take place on Saturday at 2 p.m., conducted by Rev. C. A. Malcolm, of Port Stanely.  Entombment will be made in the St. Thomas Mausoleum.

The funeral of Mrs. Carrie J. Jackson, widow of Dr. George H. Jackson, former resident of Port Stanley, whose death occurred at the Glencoe Nursing Home on Wednesday morning, took place from the P. R. Williams and Son funeral home on Saturday afternoon.  Rev. C. A. Malcolm of Port Stanley conducted the service and Mrs. J. M. Rosser presided at the organ.  Entombment was made in the St. Thomas Mausoleum.  The pallbearers were Ernest and Ralph Glover, George and Max Marr, Robert Alcorn and Dale Blackwell.  Those in attendance were:  Mr. and Mrs. William A. Kennedy, and family, Hanover; Mrs. Oscar Chase, Mrs. Robert Gibson, Grimsby; Mr. and Mrs. Dalton Mosure, Pontiac, Mich.; Mr. and Mrs. E. R. Foster, Mrs. Colin Treadwell, George W. Brown, Toronto; Mr. and Mrs. Fred Brown, Mr. Norman Graham, Mr. and Mrs. Burdick Foster, Detroit; Mrs. Clarence Willans, Windsor; Miss Edith Brown, Mrs. George Bere, Mrs. Sam Woods, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Foster, London; Mrs. Ray Weeks, Tillsonburg; and many other relatives and friends St. Thomas, Port Stanley and district.
