George S. Bere Dies In Hospital
George S. Bere, group actuary of the London Life Insurance Company, with which he
spent 41 years died yesterday at Victoria Hospital after a brief illness.  He
was 60.
  Mr Bere was born in London township but was a resident of London for more than 50
years.  He was educated in London primary and secondary schools and received a bachelor
of arts degree at the University of Toronto.
  Joining the head office staff of the London Life in 1916, he rose to group actuary
in 1951.
  He was a veteran of the First World War and was a member of the London Hunt and Country
Club.  He had served as secretary-treasurer of the United Nations Association of Canada.
His wife, the former Gladys Brown, survives with two sons, Donald and Arthur, and a daughter,
Rosemary, all at home, and a sister, Mrs. Roy (Lorena) Facey, of Welburn, Ont.
  Mr. Bere lived at 458 Piccadilly Street.  The family has requested no
floral remembrances, but rather that contributions be made to the Society of Crippled
Children.
  The body is at the Needham Memorial Chapel until noon tomorrow, when it will be
removed to Metropolitan Church for services at 4:30 p.m., and interment in Mount Pleasant
Cemetery.
