At his late residence, on Wednesday, September 18, 1940, Milton Richard, beloved husband of Frances (Boughner), dear father of Fred, of Detroit, and Harry, of Arrowwood, Alberta.   Funeral sevices were held in Melbourne United Church, Saturday, September 21, at 2:30 p.m..   Interment in Longwood Cemetery.

Milton R. BROWN
The funeral of the late M. R. Brown took place at Melbourne from the United Church Saturday, afternoon with interment in Longwood Cemetery.   Rev. J. M. Beill, assisted by Rev. T. Phillips, was in charge of the services.   The pallbearers were Tom Carruthers, Archie Carruthers, Roy McCracken, Harry Brodie, Charles McFee, Stanley Towers.

Mr. Brown was born in Brownsville 83 years ago, where he spend his boyhood days going to Appin when a young man.   He engaged in cheesemaking business moving to Melbourne 23 years ago.   He carried on a flour, feed and coal business until the time of his death.   Mr. Brown was one of Melbourne's most highly esteemed citizens and an active member of the United Church, assisting in every department of the work when ever his services were required.   He was also a member of the I.O.O.F. Lodge there.

He is survived by his widow, nee Miss Frances Boughner of Brownsville; two sons, Harry of Alberta; Fred of Detroit; three sisters, Mrs. (Rev.) Charles Brown  of London, Mrs. Elgin Foster  of Wilton Grove; Mrs. (Dr.) George Jackson  of Port Stanley; also four brothers, Fred  and Ed  of Brownsville; Walter and George of Alberta.
