Many Attend Funeral Of Dr. A. S. Thompson
  Funeral services were held on Friday afternoon for Alexander Stewart Thompson, M.D., who
passed away at the family residence, Front St., on Thursday evening, August 3rd, following a long
illness.  Rev. H. B. Ashby, officiated.
  Following a private service at the home, a public service, very largely attended,
was held at St. John's Anglican Church, of which Dr. Thompson was a member. 
The choir was in attendance.  Interment was made in Strathroy cemetery, the pall
bearers being:  A. W. Bixel, W. H. Stepler, Grant Newton, Douglas Geddes, E. T. Lewis
and E. J. Malone.
  Among those from a distance attending the funeral were Dr. Archie Thompson and Miss
Mary Thompson of Grand Rapids, Mich.; Hugh Thompson and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Rolfe, Toronto;
Dr. and Mrs. Septimus Thompson, Mr. and Mrs. R. D. Blandford, Peter Thompson and Miss Kate
Thompson, Mrs. George Pugsley, of London and John Pool of St. Mary's.
