BROWN-DEETON
    A charming simple wedding took place at Walmer Road Baptist Church, Toronto, on
Saturday evening, December 27th, at 7:30 o'clock when Neva, only daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. William R. Deeton, became the bride of
Mr. William Kitchener Brown, B.A., only son of the late
F. K. Brown and Mrs. F. K. Brown of
Port Colborne.  The Reverend Doctor John MacNeill performed the ceremony, assisted by the
Reverend W.
J. Hay Brown, uncle of the groom.  Mr. Pickard presided at the organ. 
During the signing of the register Miss Laura Bateman sang "Oh, Perfect Love."
    The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, was attended by Miss
Winnifred Mallagh as bridesmaid and Miss Blanche M. Brown as maid of honor. 
Mr. Lorne Deeton was best man and those acting
as ushers were Reverend H. M. Lang, Mr. Gordon Chute, Mr. E. G. Hildebrand and Mr.
Boyd McLay.
    The charming little bride was gowned in white crepe made on long straight lines
trimmed with silver lace.  Her Brussels veil, which had been worn by the bride's
mother at her wedding was caught to the head in cap shape with orange blossoms and lillies
of the valley, and fell gracefully to the hem of her court train of Spanish lace. 
She carried a Victorian bouquet of bridal roses and shower of lillies of the valley. 
The bridesmaid, Miss Winnifred Mallagh, wore a lovely gown of ocre lace over georgette,
embroidered in flowers in shades of blue and rose, and orce lace hat to match. 
Miss Blanche M. Brown, sister of the groom, as maid of honor, was becomingly gowned in
yellow beaded georgette with a picture hat of black velvet.  Bothe attendants
carried large bouquets of Ophelia roses.  Mrs. Deeton, mother of the bride,
wore a handsome gown of grey brocaded chiffon and hat to match with ostrich pips. 
Miss Downing, aunt of the groom, wore a black silk crepe with hat to match.
    After the ceremony a reception was held at the home of the bride's parents,
4 Spadina Road.  Mr. and Mrs. Brown and their attendants receiving the one
hundred and fifty guests with Mr. and Mrs. Deeton.
    Among the out-of-town guests were Miss Lucy Downing, Mr. and Mrs. O. L. Steele
and Miss Blanche M. Brown of Port Colborne, Mrs. Gretzner, Miss Meeta Gretzner
and Mr. Knectknel (sic, should be 'Knechtel') of Hanover.
    The happy couple left amid showers of rose leaves for Buffalo, Atlantic City and
New York.  On their return they will reside at 4 Spadina Road, Toronto.
