BROWN, Mrs. Jemima, daughter of Silas Carter, was born in Bertie township, June 18, 1800, and moved to Malahide at age 18 to keep house for her brother, Nicholas. At age 25, she married Walter Brown, who died 51 years later. She died in Malahide, July 23, 1878, and was buried beside her husband in Seminary Cemetery; survived by 5 sons, one of whom is Rev. W. L. Brown of Malahide, and 1 daughter.
