This is the last Will and testament of one Walter Brown of the Township of Malahide in the County of Elgin and Province of Ontario yeoman.
I Walter Brown being weak of body but of sound mind memory and understanding do make and publish this my last Will and testament hereby revoking and making void all former Wills by me at any time hereto foremade.

First I leave and bequeath unto my eldest daughter Letta Townsend wife of Henry Townsend of the Township of Walsingham in the County of Norfolk yeoman the sum of one dollar she being heretofore received the sum of three hundred dollars from me as her portion of my estate.

Second I leave and bequeath unto my eldest son John Brown of the Township of Caradock in the County of Middlesex the sum of one dollar he having heretofore received the sum of five hundred dollars from me as his portion of my estate.

Third I leave and bequeath unto my second daughter Catherine Karn wife of Jacob Karn farmer of the Township of Zorra in the County of Oxford yeoman the sum of one dollar she having heretofore received the sum of three hundred dollars from me as her portion of my estate.

Fourth I leave and bequeath unto my wife Jemima Brown all that part of the south half of lot Number Eleven on the fourth Concession of the Township of Malahide in the said County of Elgin and not heretofore conveyed by me to any one.  I also give and bequeath unto my said wife Jemima Brown all my household furniture and household goods together with all my wearing apparel to hold to her and her heirs and assigns forever.

Fifth I also give and bequeath unto my said wife a clear yearly annuity equal to six percent on my persons estate denoted herein and hereto fore provided by agreement for that purpose and also so much of the previous sum fifteen hudred dollars now secured to me by mortgage on lands sold by me to one John Laycock as she may in her lifetime require to and for her ever use.

Sixth I give devise and bequeath unto my sons Nicholas Carter Brown, William Bowen Brown, Walter Livingston Brown, George Payne Brown, and Jonathan Brown and my daughter Sarah Jane Teller all the rest residue and remainder of my real and personal estate not heretofore dispersed of share and share alike subject neverless to the payment of my just debts funeral and testamentary expenses and subject moreover to the said clear yearly annuity of six percentium per annum upon Certain Monies now in the hands said residuary legatia and upon the said sum of fifteen hundred dollars so by Mortgage secured as aforesaid the said annuity to be paid by the said residuary Legatia in proportions corresponding to the amount each has received the said Nicholas Carter Brown, pay upon the said sum of fifteen hundred dollars secured by Mortgage as aforesaid so long as the same remains in his hands.

Lastly I appoint my said wife Jemimah Brown and my trusty friends John Drysdal and John Prichard both of the Township of Malahide aforesaid yeoman Executrix and Executors of this my last Will and testament.
In witness whereof I have hereto set my hand and seal this ninth day of January in the year of our Lord one thousand and eight hundred and Sixty Five.

County of Elgin Walter Edgar Murray of the Village of Aylmer Town in the County of Elgin Convey oath and say:
1. That I and another subscribing witness thereto were present and did see the will of which the within paper writing is a true copy duly executed sequel published and declared as and for his last Will and testament by Walter Brown late of the Township of Malahide in the County of Elgin deceased.
2. That I and the said other witness subscribed our names to the said Will in our handwriting respectively as such witnesses in the presence of the said testator and in the presence of each other.
3. That I was personally aquainted with the said Walter Brown.
