They are seaworthy boats, indeed one has made the trip from Scotland to Iceland and Norway. They still regularly cross the North Sea from Suffolk to Holland. They are also at home exploring creeks and rivers, as with the rudder and centreboard up they only draw 0.23m. The mast pivots and can quickly be lowered for 'shooting' bridges.

The Wayfarer association organises rallies on most weekends throughout the summer around this country, France, Holland and Ireland.

For cruising, two adults and two small children can sleep aboard under various forms of tent, and store all their personal gear and equipment in the large watertight lockers which will keep the boat afloat if swamped.

They are easily launched and recovered, and with a trailer, a different cruising area can be explored every weekend. Oars or a 2 HP motor easily drives them.
