Chapter III

"Hey, this is kinda fly," Justin remarked as he sat down, taking his napkin and smoothing it over his lap. Jayce smirked.

"You've got some strict manners."

Justin took a drink of water before flagging down the waitress. Jayce opened the menu, seeing as he had never been there before, and skimmed over the contents. He decided on a taco salad, beans instead of beef when Justin was ordering drinks.

The blonde turned towards him and put his hands in his lap. "The south does that to ya," he smiled and Jayce returned the goofy gesture, Justin laughing.

"You're from the south? Where?"

Justin cracked his knuckles and then blushed. "Memphis... well, near Memphis, Tennessee. I'm a country boy at it's best." For good measure, he tipped his imaginary hat, doing his best John Wayne impression. Jayce wouldn't admit it, but he was already so smitten.

"How'd you end up in California, then?" Jayce was full of questions and Justin's eyes twinkled when he answered.

"Got bored with small towns and their alter boys. I didn't want to go to college-- To do what?-- and so I came here with a friend, and fell in love with Donna Summer. Then fell for disco, then clubs and raves." He peered at Jayce from over the rim of the menu. "Then cute little bartenders."

Shit, Jayce was in love too.

"Where are you-- Ooh, drinks." Justin reached for his drink, handing JC his beer before turning to the conversation again. "OK, so where are you from again?"

"Maryland. Good ol' eastern shore."

"Ooh, you've been to Ocean City?" Justin asked, taking a sip of his drink. The waitress came back with a thick accent, ready for orders and Justin smiled as she walked away. "Nice girl, eh?"

Jayce quirked an eyebrow and resisted the urge to draw a question mark above his head. Justin was so odd, so... jubilant, so fun and Jayce was having a field day trying to figure out why the hell that was.

"Ya know, you got the pertiest blue eyes I'd ever done seen."

Jayce blinked before bursting out laughing, his voice high as on lookers stared. Justin just grinned with satisfaction.

"You're fucking insane," Jayce breathed out before wiping his eyes, sniffling at the sheen of tears.

"But I mean it. You have really pretty--"

"Thanks," Jayce interrupted, a blush on his face. Justin rose an eyebrow, chocking it up to being shy. It was too cute, he had to admit.

"How old are you?"

Jayce chuckled. "23, you?"

Eyelashes fluttered teasingly. "You should know. You probably pumped your uncle for my statistics. Hey," he stopped, his brow knitted irresistibly, "how do you know Malik?"

Jayce gulped.

Justin tapped his foot.

"Taco salad?" Just in the nick of time, ey señorita?

Jayce smiled and took the dish, Justin doing the same as he took his fajitas. But once the steaming steak was put down, all eyes were on the brunette again.

"I'm waiting," Justin said simply and Jayce cleared his throat nervously.

"How do you know--"

Justin laughed and crossed his arms. "Don't try that shit on me."

"What does Malik--"

"Come on, man. Just tell me. What, did yall have an affair or something?"

Jayce took a long swig of his beer. "You've ever heard of coke?" Justin rolled his eyes, of course on his tongue, so Jayce continued. "You know what a pusher is?" Justin nodded slowly, then his face relaxed and his jaw went a little limp. "Are you kidding me?"

"It's... it's complicated, he's the only one who'll supply to us. Others are scared we'll get busted," Jayce tried to explain, but he had no more words to make it easier.

"Shit, and to think I just thought he had all of those bank employers wrapped around his pinky." Justin shook his head and started to roll a fajita, taking a big bite. Jayce was still waiting for the shock.

After it didn't come, he cleared his throat, asking, "You're not... you're not the least surprised?"

Justin shook his head with a full mouth. "I knew he did the stuff, didn't know he dealt. Knows how much I pay attention," he laughed and Jayce nodded, picking up his fork and taking a bite. But as he swallowed, another question dawned.

"You... you don't do it, do you?" Justin's jaw flexed one last time before he swallowed, his throat muscles working, his eyes following Jayce. "Why?"

"Just wondering."

Justin took another bite, finishing off the tortilla. "Nope. You?"

Jayce shook his head and took another forkful, looking up to see Justin watching him with a smile, trying to deny he wore one of his own.

His boots clicked on the cement bricks, reminding him of a horse's gallop. The steel shoes clicking against the pavement as they pulled the trolley, so different from when their bare hooves, hard as iron, pounded into the pliant earth, almost silent.

"You ever rode a horse, back in Tennessee?"

Justin laughed, the sound rich. "Everyone thinks just ‘cause I'm from the south, I gotta have a ranch, I gotta be a cowboy," he exclaimed with his arms flailing, exaggeration dripping from his tone. "Stereotypes." He looked to Jayce. "When will the world be sane again?"

Jayce just hoped there weren't hearts in his eyes. "So, is this you?" Jayce asked, turning to the narrow apartment. Justin nodded and stuffed his hands in his back pockets.

"Right, well... it was a nice dinner."

"Yeah, thanks. It was fun. You're fun," Jayce offered with a smile. He begged with his eyes for the blonde to ask to go up, and if not soon, he would ask himself.

"Well, maybe I'll talk to you tomorrow. I mean, I wanted... I think I'm gonna be at the club tomorrow night, I," Jayce took a step closer, "was gonna be there, ya know, maybe we could hook up again..." Justin was breathing hard as their chests bumped, their noses brushing against one another's.

"Can I come up?" Jayce whispered, his lips unbearably close as Justin breathed.

"No."

Wait, no?

"No?"

Justin took a deep breath and stepped away as he released it. "I have a first date rule."

"A first date rule?" Jayce laughed, scratching at his chin, playing along. "Do I at least get a kiss?"

Justin leaned forward, Jayce closing his eyes in anticipation, surely surprised as wet lips landed on his cheek.

"I told you, I have a rule." Justin was firm and Jayce tried not to swallow his tongue.

"Um, excuse me for being crude but..." He looked around. "We fucked the first night we met."

Justin laughed loudly all the way up to his door, shutting it to the sight of Jayce's jaw on the ground.

* * *

It was the second date, and Jayce was ready for some action.

They had gone to another club, but this more of a dance hall. Justin had fallen in love with it at the door, the loud thumping bass producing a grin that made Jayce tingle.

But once inside it was a totally different story.

It seemed as if Justin's ass was glued to Jayce's crotch, never left as they danced, and the blonde looked at him with shaded eyes. Jayce closed his eyes as Justin shifted against his erection. No one seemed to dance quite like them, except for the people, rushing outside, their fingers fumbling with blouse buttons and pants zippers.

Now, back at the apartment, Justin stood close to the door, Jayce even closer to him. The lock was loud as it slipped from between the wood, the knob turning at the ease of Justin's wrist. He wanted to warn the other man of the cleanliness factor of their apartment, but it proved difficult with Jayce's tongue in his mouth so he stayed quiet.

They made it all the way to the bedroom with out falling, but once inside, Justin stepped on a magazine, sliding right off of his feet, taking Jayce with him.

"Shit," the other groaned into Justin's cheek, but not a second later was he kissing the younger man's chin, licking into his mouth again.

"The bed--" Justin gave in momentarily to the kiss, letting Jayce control. "The bed's over there--"

"This is good," Jayce murmured, his lips wrapped around Justin's adam's apple, smooth skin different from the usual stubble.

"But I--"

Jayce rolled off of him quickly and what he did next took Justin's breath away.

Jayce was skinny, lean, bony... However you wanted to slice it, the man wasn't full of bulging muscles. So when he lifted Justin off his feet, carried him like a bride and laid him down on the bed like he was porcelain, Justin decided to forget all judgements, really.

"What?" Jayce asked as his hands worked on the blonde's jeans. Justin just sighed.

"You're my knight and shining armor, you know that?" he smiled and Jayce rolled his eyes, capturing his lips in another kiss.

"Do you know how long I've wanted to do this?" the brunette mumbled against his neck, his head turned to the left for more access. Jayce bit softly and Justin groaned, bucking his hips against the brunette's, heat wrapped around them. Yes, he did know.

Justin moved, his eyes clamping as Jayce's hip dug into his crotch.

"I've wanted you... so... bad." Jayce, having discarded Justin's shirt, tongued a piercing, the mere thought of it making Justin even hotter.

"Shit," he panted, knowing he wouldn't last much longer-- Jayce's flat palm slid down his body and into his boxers --especially if the brunette was assisting him.

He came all over his stomach and Jayce's hand. He watched as Jayce's lips wrapped around a slick finger. Justin gasped and closed his eyes as his groin ached again.

"I'm sorry," he apologized as Jayce kissed him, a drenched hand sliding over his chest. He moaned as his boxers were removed fully. He wanted to help, to undress the other man but his bones were just returning to their normal material and he had to catch his breath first.

"Don't be, you taste sweet," Jayce whispered, the tone gritty and hot and nasty and Justin was hard again.

"Do you have any condoms?"

Justin wasn't comprehending, his heart speeding in anticipation. He was sure he had wanted this way more than Jayce did.

"Justin, condoms? Where?" Jayce tried again but Justin pulled him in for a kiss they couldn't deny. Yet Jayce, who prided himself on his self control, pulled away, Justin's tongue, hot and wet, licking over his lips obscenely. Jayce wondered briefly if the boy knew what he did to him.

"Condoms." He shook the blonde and Justin blinked, shaking his head, pointing over to a corner. Jayce looked over, seeing the clutter and bent towards his pants. He hoped he had the one in his wallet.

"Gravy," he smiled and Justin chuckled.

"You stole my word," he complained as he raised his legs, Jayce smirking.

In position, he took a deep breath, spitting into his hand. He didn't even want to know where the lube was.

He slid forward and Justin released a breathy groan, his body tightening from the pressure. It stung, but just a little. Much better than the last time.

"You're so.." Jayce groaned as he pulled out a little, only to push forward again. "You're so tight," he panted, his nails digging into Justin's thigh. Justin had no words as his mouth worked against the air, his body trembling as Jayce fucked him.

Fucked him?

Justin shook his head, opening his eyes as Jayce thrust again, the other's eyes clamped tight, lip caught between teeth and Justin swallowed, pressing back against Jayce's hips.

Just for now, he promised himself.
