A New Beginning
(A Poem I Wrote About The Past Going Into The Future)

Looking Out The Window, I Think Of The Years Gone By
Remembering, All Those Times My Only Truth Was To Lie
All Those Tears I Shed, Never Fully Understanding Why
The Days I Woke Up, Feeling Like Something Inside Me Died
I’m Thinking About The People, Who I Thought Were My Friends
The Ones I Thought Would Be There For Me, Until The Very End
The Guys Who Broke My Heart, Only Sending Me Back For More
The Times I Cried For Something I Said, Before Slamming The Door

I’m Getting Older, Learning More As I Get Though Each Day
I’m Learning How To Relax Enough To Take My Own Pain Away
I Have To Prepare Myself For The Challenges I Have Yet To Come
When I Get Lost Or Can’t Find My Way, I’ll Find My Way Back Home
If I Meet A Guy Who Wants Me To Be Someone I’m Not For Him
I Will Find The Strength To Move On, Finding Love Again
Learning All Of Life’s Little Lessons, Keeps Me Believing
I Will Get Through Today, Knowing Tomorrow Is A New Beginning

In My Life, I Won’t Be Afraid Or Ashamed To Hang My Head Down
Those Times I Felt Alone, All I Had To Do Was Look Up & Around
If You Pick A Song & Listen Closely To The Words They Sing
You’ll Realize You’re Not The Only One, Left Out In The Rain
Trials Faced Are Lessons Learned, Saving Tears For Other Days
Working To Live, Doesn’t Mean You Have To Live Working All Day
When You Make Your Own Fun, Everyone Will Happily Follow You
Keep In Mind That After A Stormy Night, Tomorrow The Sky Will Be Blue

I Used To Love With My Eyes, Never Giving My Heart A Chance
I Would Fall In Love With His Voice, Before The Painful Glance
I’ve Learned The Cute Guys, Are The Ones Who Will Never Care
If You Follow Them Through Life, They Will Take You Nowhere
If You Give Someone A Chance, You Might See Something I Didn’t
I Couldn’t Control How I Felt, Sometimes I Hated Every Minute Of It
Life Is To Short To Worry About Having Those Perfect innings
When You Get Lost, Start Tomorrow With A New Beginning
