This picture was taken looking southwest across the wetlands early
one late summer morning, before the morning mist burned off.
As you can see, the house is hidden in the woods, and guests often
drive right past without even realizing it is there. The dirt road is to
the left. All that wood was cut from dead or fallen trees and was split
with the Unicorn splitter.
Looking North on the same Summer morning, you can see my barn-garage
and the two-car garage that my son built for his mother so she could have
a place for her cars. I have filled up the barn with tractors and shop.
The barn was built in 1970 and is 24x48 with a 12x24 shed that we added
later. Behind the barn and garage are the limestone hills and heavy woodlands.
There are bear, bobcat, raccoons, and fox living in various caves that
form naturally in the limestone. The deer, turkeys, and other animals live
in the wet areas where people cannot get to them.
