We survived Christmas and the New Year
"Wales/UK" - by The Welsh Wizard
(Wales, UK)
14th January, 2002
Well here we are, we survived Christmas and the New Year.
The School Reunion, for Monmouth Comprehensive, went well so I hear. But there are other who will report on this I'm sure.
As last year was, for the "ordinary bloke/blokess in the street",great.
After we got over September 11th, which will never be forgotten, it was all down hill for Christmas and according to the papers and the media in general everyone was spend - spend - spend. So it ended on a high, not to mention that the Bank Managers are laughing all the way to.
Here in sleepy old Monmouth, The town lights over Christmas were a great deal better than they have been over the last few years. The shoppers seem to be out in force, so I would say that Monmouth had its share of the spend - spend - spend.
We, as usual, on Christmas Eve met up with old mates in Weatherspoons, our annual gathering, everyone was there and a good time was had by all. On Christmas day, we went round to dear friends of ours and had a great day, ate to much and drank to much, Played Board Games, usual old story - But I think that it great. Everyone can let their hair down, relax and not take it to serious, unless like me your losing. :-)
So what have we got to look forward to in the year 2002. A safer world, I think not, to many Politicians involved for that to happen.
A brighter world, may be, I seriously hope so.
I suppose we are looking forward to a decision on whether the New Bridge will get started sooner or later. Politicians/Decisions not very good bed follows.
Will 2002 get its feet under the table and see what it looks like doing. See you soon.
