A Little About Us
Who are we? Well I am 24 years old, I have 3 darling children and I am a student at a local collage. Last year I decided to go back to school so that I will be able to provide for my little ones. I'm sure that everything will be hard for a few years, but I can not get a job good enough to support all of us without a collage edcuation.
I am divorced well almost. I will not go into details as to why my marriage broke up. It is pointless all it would do is point fingers and all the things that go with broken marrages
My oldest is my only daughter. She is 7 and has Marfan's Syndrome. She also has a severe hearing loss. She has dislocated lenses from the Marfans and will eventually need both of her lenses removed or replaced. Other than that she is a regular 7-year-old kid.
The only difference is that she has to take it easy when she is running around with her friends. As her mom I have the responsiabilty of making sure that she does take it easy. Have you ever tried to make a kid take it easy? It only works about 2% of the time. One of these days she will listen, or at least realize the importance of this. Until then I just have to do my best.
My oldest boy is 5. Talk about active, I can't believe that he has not broken any arms or legs yet. He has had some strange situations though. A couple of weeks before he turned two-years-old he was attacked by a dog and had to have 11 stitches on his face. When he was 14 months he had to have an emergency hernia opperation. He has had glasses since he was 15 months. and last year he had shingles. Things are never boaring with kids around.
Fortunatly he has not had any major situations in the last year. I hope that does not mean that there is something on its way. As far as Marfan's goes we are not sure if he has it or not. We think that he probably does but he won't be tested until later this month.
That leaves the baby. Accually he is almost 2 now, but he is still the baby. He also has Hearing Loss and needs hearing aids. Although he also won't be tested until later this month we are sure that he also has Marfan's. He has so many of the signs that there is little question in our minds that he has it.
He is such a sweet heart. He is always happy and a joy to all of us including his brother and sister. Of course he has his moments, all two-year-olds do. Fortunatly his happy times more than make up for it.
Well that is my family a house full of happy tall Marfan Christians. Like most people we take things one day at a time. We trust that from day to day no matter what happens we can rely on each other and on God. As long as we are all together and God is with us we can face anything that we have to. Of course we would rather not face too much. However, whatever we have to face we will.
