The Creekers Strike Back

Note to all: This will most likely be the last chapter - 12/30/2002. After all, season 5 is long over and it's difficult to make fun of that when there's so much more of a mess in Season 6.

Chapter 3 - Role Playing Games

"Twenty-four, twenty-four hours agooooo, I wanna be sedated," Jen sang as she and Dawson were the last to enter the van, sitting in the middle seat with Andie.

Pacey chuckled from the back of the van, "Did you two sneak off for that quickie?" pointing at Drue.

Drue responded, "If that's the case, I know nothing about it. Not that I ever remember you singing that type of music ever."

Jen pushed a strand of hair behind her ear. "I had this My So-Called Life moment. For some reason, I felt this urge to start wailing into mopey music." She started singing another song, "Cuz I'm just a teenage dirtbag, baby."

Drue shook his head in amazement as he snapped at Dawson, "Okay, I give. What the hell did you two talk about?"

Dawson informed him, "I mentioned plans for us to stay in a hotel. Maybe pretend to be a couple for the evening."

Jen chimed in, "That's enough to get anyone depressed, as you could well understand. I'm getting advances from guys I clearly rejected years ago."

Drue barked out. "Exactly why would you be getting offers from guys? Don't I give you enough?" He then realized how foolish his reaction was. “Nevermind, that was a needlessly jealous reaction to a joke.”

“Well, you know how I have all these issues with my New York past. How can I trust any guy? On that wavelength, why should any guy trust me?" Jen turned away before Drue could see her smile as she delivered those lines.

Jack shook his head incredulously as he kept his focus on the road, ever so thankful to have the driving shift now. He knew what was happening and he still couldn't believe she was saying this crap. "You have to work past your trust issues. You can't just avoid relationships because of this fear."

Jen sighed loudly, “I hardly think you’re the right person to say anything regarding fear, Jack.” Drue narrowed his eyes, trying to figure out what the hell was happening.

Dawson and Andie were turning back and forth, to gauge Jack’s and then Drue’s reactions. Andie let out a deep breath before saying to Dawson, “Some people just need to admit the truth.” She nodded to the seat in front of her, where Joey had map duty.

Dawson muttered, “I’m not so sure she would want to hear this.” Even though he was willing to go along with this before, he’d had nagging doubts. After all, this was Joey - and he hadn't told Andie yet that he'd chickened out of telling her. Well, not exactly that, either, but he hadn't been able to get Joey away from Pacey for even one moment.

Andie replied encouragingly, “It’s the couple thing, isn’t it." She reached over the seat, where Pacey was leaning. "I don't seriously think he'd have a problem with the photo shoot idea."

Pacey's ears perked up at the news. "Would you mind filling me in, if I am in fact the 'he' you're refering to."

Dawson gave Andie a dirty look before stating, "We had this business idea about putting a calendar together. Andie is convinced that you'd make the perfect subject for the spread."

“Is she? Well, she’s always had rather good taste.”

Joey finally looked up from the map, wondering what the hell was going on.

Andie continued, “Thank you. So, since we’re on this road trip anyway, we could make a couple of stops and take advantage of wonderful scenery.”
