ss                                                   XXWF Roleplaying Tips
                                                                (by Chris Copeland)

A Note
I decided to make a page of Roleplay Tips to help out anyone who needs help. Please understand, I'm not telling everyone how to roleplay, or making an example out of anyone, everyone has there OWN style of roleplaying, and that's not a bad thing,  it's a good thing (DDP smile here) because if we all roleplayed the same it would be boring, and not very fun to read. So by all means just take these as tips and tips only. I'm not telling anyone how to roleplay, just giving a few helpful hints that I have picked up. Here are some that help me out.

Roleplaying Tips
If you want and you have some type of text typing program (word, wordpad etc.) type your roleplay on it, save it if you want too, and copy and paste it to the message board when you are done. Because sometimes say if you goto "preview post" on the message board and then click back sometimes the roleplay will be erased.

Use descent grammer and spelling. You don't have to have everything perfect. I know sometimes people are in a hurry, so as long as it is readable its okay. My spelling and grammer isn't the greatest.

Think of creative ways to start your roleplays. Like being in different places such as: Backstage, Parking Lot, Locker room etc. Its up to you, be creative. Just don't make it ridiculous like: Jumping out of an airplane and parachuting into the ring, or anything that can't really happen in wrestling. Keep it real in other words.

Be aware of your surrounding. If you are on the roof of the arena don't say he stands on the roof and then starts to make his way up the steps. That makes no sense, and may confuse the reader.

Make up surrounding. There is no official layout to an arena in an efed, so make up your own directions, like if I need to go from the cafeteria and get to the ring, I would say something like this: Jeff Hardy steps out the cafeteria doors and walks down the hall. He turns down the hallway and takes a right, he walks down another hallway and ends up in the backstage area. He heads through the entry curtains and makes his way down the ramp and to the ring. Are the directions from the cafeteria to the ring what I just said? Heck if I know! Make it up! I may go to the same place from the same place 30 times, but it will probably be different everytime!

Don't type in ALL Caps! Please don't type in all capital letters, because capital letters are usually for reading signs like this: (The sign reads: LOCKER ROOM AREA) now some may not be like that like this: (The sign on the door reads: The Horsemen) and capital letter usually express yelling or anger, so if you are angry the whole roleplay...calm down a bit. And plus typing in All Caps looks like this: THIS IS TYPING IN ALL CAPS AND IT IS GETTING ANNOYING AND MAKES IT HARD TO GET A FEEL OF WHAT THE ROLEPLAY IS LIKE.

Don't swear/curse every two lines. It's okay to swear, but there is no need for an efed full of Stone Cold's, and even Austin doesn't cuss that much! Don't over do it.

Act like your wrestler would. Especially people using real wrestlers for example: If you are Goldust don't say stuff like this: I'm gonna rip off your f****** head and shove it up your a**! You ain't s***! Now when have you heard him talk like that? Be sensible. For made up wrestlers, if your wrestler is portrayed as a nice guy, well mannered wrestler...have him act that way!

No Racism! There is no place in an efed for racism. Don't use any prejudice remarks or words in a roleplay or anywhere else. Saying these things if not always, often havr you fired from the efed.

No killing wrestlers/staff members in roleplays! You have no right to kill anyone that is a wrestler or a member of the staff in the matches! There is no killing in wrestling! Besides do wrestlers gets that upset?

Don't use other people's wrestlers in your roleplays  without their permission. Because that may make the person who's wrestler you used upset, or you may say something that they wouldn't want you to say.. Get the "Ok" from that person first.

Have realistic moves if you attack someone. Have a maneuver that can actually happen. Please don't have one like this: So and so jumps off the top rope and does 17 front flips in mid-air and nails a splash. Thats almost as ridiculous as jumping off the top rope and doing 9 cartwheels, tying their left shoe, finishing the rubix cube and dropping an elbow!

Be nice to newcomers to efed wrestling. This might be someone's first efed, and they have to get used to the way things work.

When doing something seperate it from the talking with parenthesis () brackets [] astriks * or something. Because that will not confuse people. An example:

Jeff Hardy: I'm going to the ring.
(Jeff walks through  the entry curtains and walks toward the ring.)

Do quality roleplays. If you wanna win matches put time and effort into your roleplays. Winners aren't always on quantity, but quality. If you don't roleplay you stand virtually no chance of winning.

Know your HTML. It is a good idea to know HTML especially if you decide to do Efed Wrestling. It is boring to see just the plain old roleplay sometimes, with HTML you can add color, bold words or letters, you can do
Italics, you can underline and other things, but sometimes too much is a bad thing. Don't use so many colors that it gives the person a headache :)

Use readable fonts. When you roleplay always remember to use a readable font. There and several fonts to choose from so why pick the most annoying one. It makes it harder for people to read and sometimes people won't even bother to read it.

Don't take it personal, it's only a game. This is a game and games are for fun, and I their are some that take this way too serious at times. I have been cused at and many other things when I used to run an efed. (I have had no troubles with this in the XXWF. :)) Some people are bad sports about things, so please don't be one yourself.

Don't give up. If you don't win, then try again harder next time. If you try and keep it up you will win someday and that is a fact! Take it from me, I wasn't good at roleplaying at all and I kept at it and I have alot to show for it now. So keep it up.

Be your character. If you are a good guy be a good guy, if you are a bad guy be a bad guy. But don't be good one week and bad the next and back again the next week. It's okay to turn from good to bad and bad to good.. but don't do it day in and day out, it confuses people, and you character could suffer got it.

Stay on track. Keep your routine and stay in the game so to speak. If you work hard when you get there and slack off you will not be the one recieving title shots and such. So if you stay on your game you wil get opportunities.

Cut the staff a break. (This may be a bit off topic, but it's important none the less.) Being on the staff is a fun thing and I enjoy it, but it can stop being fun when people start expecting things a certain way. If the results are supposed to be out on a certain day and they don't come out that day,  don't harass thet staff about when is this gonna be up, because the people that write the things have a life just like the people that do the RPing.

Read up before you speak up. Make sure you get your facts straight before you start saying things, because if your facts aren't correct it makes you look stupid.

Have fun. Be creative, this efed was made for people to have fun. Enjoy yourself.

Well that's all can think of off the top of my head. So goodluck and I hope this helps you out a bit.

More coming soon......
