With modern technology, people can be in contact throughout entire globe. I, myself, have friends from different hemispheres with whom I love to stay in contact via e-mail. Among my friends are people from Mexico, Italy, England and my native Czech Republic. Almost all of my friends use the same web site (www.yahoo.com) for e-mail contact. Several of them share their photos or thoughts electronically. Below is the instruction sheet for submitting a project as an attachment to an e-mail with Yahoo address. The project is a file created in Rich Text Format, which allowed the recipient to add or correct directly into the text.
Note: These directions working only within Yahoo system.
1. Finish writing and proofreading your project in Microsoft Word.
2. Click on “File” located in the upper left corner of the screen.
2.1. Click “Save as.”
2.2.Under file name is located “Save as Type.”
Scroll the arrow down and select “Rich Text Format.”
2.3 In the pop-up appears a box labeled “File name.”
Enter your file’s name in the spaces provided.
2.4.Click “Save.”
3. Return to “File” located in the upper left corner. Click on it.
3.1. Click “Send to.”
3.2. Choose the option “Mail Recipient (as Attachment).”
4. The computer automatically opens Yahoo web site.
4.1. Sign on Yahoo by entering your user name and correct password.
4.2. Click “Browse” to view your saved document.
Select the file you wish to e-mail.
4.3. Click “Open,” and click “Attach File.”
5. Note: Please, wait while the computer is attaching your file; otherwise, the entire
operation will abort.
5.1. Click “Continue to message.”
5.2. Fill in after the colon (“To:”) the e-mail address of a recipient.
5.3. Note: Compose a message saying that you are including an attached file;
otherwise, attachment could be easily overlooked.
5.4. Click “Send.”
Keep this instruction sheet as a quick reference in the place where you can
access it in the future, whenever you need to repeat this operation again.
