Katrina Robinson
Alias: Falcon
Date of Birth: June 17
Age: 15
Bloodtype: Half and Half
Appearance: Katrina's most striking feature is her long silky hair. A deep, rich red in colour, almost like blood, it hangs straight naturally (though currently she spells it to be slightly wavy) in one sleek sheet down her back, to her shoulder blades. She has creamy pale skin, and large, dark grey eyes. She has a feminine figure- toned, but curved- and her movements are predatory and vaguely feline.
She most often wears her hair up in a high ponytail with a side parting and a wavy fringe, and she has one pair of earrings, small diamante squares, that she wears all the time. She never wears a watch, and always dresses in neat smart-casual. She favors black heeled shoes.
Personality: Katrina, or Kitty, as she allows her close friends (few as they are) to call her, is a performer. A singer and an actress, she loves everything dramatic, especially when it comes to putting on a different character and identity. What she loves most about performing is the admiration of the audience, and her favorite characters to play are undercover detectives, royalty or heirs, and seductresses. If forced to choose, she prefers singing to straight-out acting, and dreams of being a glamourous showgirl with her name in lights. She likes the alias Falcon, and uses it with gradually increasing frequency, when she feels like being somewhat anonymous. She has no real magical aspirations, but is certainly intelligent, and does study hard enough to get above average grades.
History: Mary Robinson was 19 when she met Alistair Gidley, the dashing 20 year old Hogwarts graduate. She never knew he was a wizard. They had a whirlwind affair, and went on their own separate ways. It was only later that Mary discovered she was pregnant. Being a morally sound young lady she refused to have an abortion, even though 20 was far younger than she had intended to ever have children. She would have called Alistair, but she had no way to contact him. So she resolved to bring up the child alone. When Kitty was born, Mary felt that having such a beautiful baby was her reward for sticking out the mistakes she had made. Katrina Robinson was brought into the world without a father or siblings or knowledge of her magical heritage, but with a loving mother, caring and supportive grandparents, and a healthy pair of lungs.
Mary's initial reaction to Kitty's constant crying was one of despair, but by the end of the first year, when Kitty could already put together short sentences, she became proud of her daughters vocal skills. As the young redhead grew up to develop a love of song, Mary was even more proud. As a reasonably calm child, Katrina didn't have many 'accidents' to betray her magical heritage, although when she played dress-ups the clothes she wore always seemed to fit her unusually well.
Although not rich, as a single mother Mary managed to support her daughter comfortably. Still, their house wasn't in the best area of London, and she sometimes she worried that Katrina seemed rather too interested in some of the shadier aspects of their neighborhood. Her interest seemed to slacken off part way through primary school, however, when she became involved in a class play- and from that day on, she was always involved in some performance-related activity.
It was only a few months before her 11th birthday that the doorbell rung after school, and Katrina opened the door to find a strange man in a green overcoat carrying a bunch of flowers. His hair was as red as hers, and when he saw her, his jaw dropped. When Mary got home from work a few hours later, the first thing she heard and saw was Katrina's excited face and the exclamation "Guess what mum?! I'm a witch!". And then she saw Alistair, with his wand on the table and a bag of powder in his hand, standing by the fireplace, and she demanded an explanation.
Alistair finally managed to convince Mary that what he said was true. If he had known he had a child by her, he would have explained it much earlier, and would have stuck around. As it was, his 'dropping by' to visit an old flame was well timed. Shortly afterwards, Katrina got a letter for Hogwarts. More mature now, Alistair and Mary started their relationship all over again, and near the end of her first year of schooling, they married. It took Kitty awhile to adjust to having a dad, but she loves Hogwarts, feeling that she can learn so much more from there than a regular school, and recognizes him as an important part of her life as a witch- over time she's even grown to accept him as family, and she knows that he loves her very much.
Katrina's relationship with her father only became stronger as the conflict with Voldemort increased. She sympathised with Harry's occasional emotional turmoil, understanding what it was like to only find out about the magical world so shortly before coming to Hogwarts. Still, she tried to focus on the things immediate to her, and not to think about the terrible danger that the world was in. Now, with Voldemort once again defeated, she, like everyone else, is a little unsure as to what will change, but thinks that mostly not much will.
