Stephanie Cathleen Brundate
Blood Type: Muggle-Born
Character Age: 14
House: Ravenclaw
Character Description: Stephanie's raven black hair is thin and straight, reaching to the middle of her back when worn down. Her eyes are of a bright sapphire blue and framed by long lashes, as well as slim silver glasses, which were handily spelled in her third year to remain clean. Supporting them is a nose somewhat sharpened, following perfectly in suit with the rest of her features. Her skin is pale from long hours spent indoors.
Although somewhat short of stature, Stephanie disdains shoes with long heels, thinking them silly and good only for loss of balance or a disproportionate appearance. In the same manner she looks with dislike upon most jewelry and ornaments, keeping her dress style plain but painstakingly neat.
Personality: Ever since her birth Stephanie had been of the curious type, ready and willing to learn, no matter what the personal costs. With the opening of the wizarding world to her, her desire for knowledge grew at an almost alarming rate, leaving her a child transformed.
Once an active young girl, Stephanie now spends hours looking through parchments and books, attempting to make her knowledge of any and all subjects complete. It is a goal she believes possible, but only for the relentless worker, one with enough ambition and strength to carry on. In her earlier years at Hogwarts, this belief led her to be foolishly unaware of her environment, but she has since concluded that more is to be learned from the people and things that surround her.
She is a quiet girl, listening to all she can hear and watching all she can see. Her quest has resulted in a slight feeling of disdain, reserved for those she considers to be without worthy aspirations, as well as a reluctance to share her thoughts with others. After all, knowledge is power, and not to be thrown about lightly.
History: Stephanie Brundate was born the second child to Muggle parents Christopher and Christiana. The first, a lively boy by the name of Edmund, had arrived just two years earlier when the family still made their home in Scotland, and had moved to England only recently.
The girl seemed to take greatly to her brother at first, always trailing after him and his friends and joining in what activities arose. A close relationship existed between them until Stephanie reached the age of seven and the second grade. Up until that point, the two had been attending school together, but Stephanie insisted on being home schooled. She felt she could learn more, and her parents obliged. Edmund continued to affectionately look after his sister, but he felt that his fondness was never returned quite as it had been before.
When Stephanie received her letter to Hogwarts, she was thrilled. It was all she had hoped for, almost expected since the day Edmund had found his own in the mail. With it had come to her the realization that there was so much more for her to learn of the world, and she devoured the writings her brother sent home to her, as well as the contents of the books he brought home in the summers. By the time she herself was accepted, the girl had an impressive knowledge of wizards and their ways for one who was descended of Muggles.
Stephanie’s first year at Hogwarts was spent with great enthusiasm, an enthusiasm that gradually changed its focus from the school itself to the knowledge that could be found within it, and around it, and in the people inside it. Tackling first her studies, she has inevitably become one of the top in her class and has every intention of being the finest student there.
