The 6th Reunion of the Milton Reese Davis Families held at Sycamore Park 
on July 8th 2006.  It was hosted by Kenlyn Hayes and Jean Kitsembel.  We 
had relatives from as far away as Oklahoma City, Oklahoma as well as DeKalb, 
Metamora, Downers Grove, Naperville, Leaf River, Mattoon, Green Oaks, Beach 
Park, Belvidere, Genoa, and Elgin of Illinois and Blue River, Wisconsin.  
We welcome new members to our group, Brian Davis's bride Camille and Bryan's 
new grandson, “Bryan Davis,” son of Chris and Brittany Davis, and Great 
Grandson of John and Linda Davis.   Pictures were taken of every group 
and the four generations consisting John, Bryan, Chris, and Bryan Davis.  A great 
potluck dinner was enjoyed by all.  We have great cooks in the Davis families. 

Jean Kitsembel presented part of the program on the ancestors of Milton Reese 
Davis.  We can now go back to 1695 to William Davis in Stafford County, 
Virginia as our oldest relative.  So it goes 
        Milton Reese Davis, 
        son of Henry b:  1804, 
        son of Henry b:  1762, 
        son of Isaac b:  1723, 
        son of William b:  1695.  
Our sources are James Davis's Civil War pension papers (son of Henry Davis 
also father of Milton Reese Davis) which lists his brothers, sisters, and 
parents with the birth dates and marriage date of his parents.

Second part of the program was presented by William I Davis Jr (Bill).  
His presentation was on some of our  relatives that fought in the 
Revolutionary War.  He showed the different uniforms that the regiments 
wore in Virginia. He gave a history of Jesse Davis who was under General 
George Washington and also under Lafayette and several of his brothers 
that were also in the Revolutionary War.  This was very informative and 
interesting to hear about our Davis Families.  

The 8th DAVIS REUNION will be held on 14th JULY 2007.  The hosts will be 
Bryan and Camille Davis and will be held at  their residence at 
14795 Old Rockland Road, Green Oaks, Illinois.  Keep in touch here at the 
website and we will get a map up soon.  Looking forward to meeting new 
Davis cousins next year and seeing the old cousins and having a great 
potluck dinner.
