1 1/4" can shells

Here is a device that I only recently started doing (im only an amateur) they are fun and simple to make. Many people recommend a strong break charge like H3 or something instead of BP because the argument is that BP is generally too slow. I personally use pulverone as the filler then I add some goex 4Fg in a ratio of about 1 part 4F to every 3 parts pulverone (coarse)

Ok here is the shell with stars and break charge in it. the thing in the middle is to keep the stars in their spots. This isn't really necessary but I like to do it anyway. The case was made with 4 turns of 60lb craft around a glue stick as a former. I then cut a cardboard disk, placed it in then pleated the edges of the paper over it with white pva glue. this is then left to dry. Once dry, fill it with some stars and break. I am using good ol' charcoal based stars and BP as break charge. Now cut another disk and put a hole in the middle of it to accommodate your delay device (time fuse etc) I used a spoullette. Now glue this disk in the same way you did the bottom.

Once this is done you can either leave as is, paste it more or spike it. I like to spike them, it isn't necessary for shells this small I don't think but i do it so it gives me something to do. For spiking you have to soak the string in some thinned glue then wind the shell vertically as seen in the picture, Then horizontally.

here it is after a light pasting, leave this to dry for however long it takes. Then add a lift cup and the appropriate amount of lift. then fuse it and have fun! but most of all be safe

I should have a video of it soon. providing my camera stops playing up.
