My Firing Panel

I have made 2 firing panels so far. the first one in nonexistent because I ripped it apart to make the second one

Here is the first panel:                                                                                                         I didn't like this one because it was too small, and it was permanently attached to the wire. It all worked beautifully but it looked dodgy.

Here are the guts, as you can see it was very crammed

So I ended up making this beast

I built it inside of a metal briefcase that I found laying around (I have no idea what "HITACHI" is). This case is pretty handy as you can hold all of your igniters, wires, pliers, tape and anything else that you need to help wire things together. It uses printer ports to connect the 14 meter lead from the firing panel to the firing location. Soldering up printer ports was rather frustrating for me, being inexperienced in the area. But a few hours and burned knuckles later I had soldered on the ports to the firing panel and the lead.

Here's a view of the port on the side of the panel

as you can see, it still looks pretty dodgy but it works and that's all that matters to me
