Q/ What Is A Pocket Bike?
A/ A pocket bike is a scaled down race bike. They are designed especially for the "big-kid" inside us, however, to an experianced, talented child, these bikes are the entry level to road racing. The average age of competitors world wide is approx. 30 years of age, which means that everyone can maintain that elusive dream of motorcycle grandeur or a state title. These small, light weight motorcycles have a aircraft grade alumium frame, ABS plastic and purpose built Polini race engines, and can achieve a maximum speed of 80km/h stock standard. These bikes are very durable, and low maintance, and the sport is one of the most in-expencive motorsports in the world.
Q/Where Can I Ride My Bike?
A/ Mini Motos are riden on Go-Kart tracks all over the world. Being a new sport to Australia, and only reaching Wesetern Australia in the past 7 months, The South West Pocket Bike Club, along with the Pocket Rocket Racing Team and fellow Members of the SWPBC, are currently using the Bunbury City Go-Kart Club's track. It is hoped that in the near future, with the race circut taking off in early 2002, Go-Kart Tracks in Perth and other areas over Western Australia will be supporting Mini Moto enthusiests and we will be seeing more riders on the track. Bunbury is currently the only area in the state that allows owners to ride on their track, and it is for this reason that the SWPBC is located in the South West area of Western Austraia; Bunbury. Pocket Bikes have been introduced to Sydney for the past 3 years. In Sydney eastern creek is the home of pocketbike competition.
