Health
No breed of dog, nor any individual dog is completely free from all genetic disorders. Responsible breeders are aware of the disorders that can occur in their breed, and of the disorders which are present in their breeding lines.
Miniature Australian Shepherds suffer from relatively few genetic disorders, however the defects recognised in the standard Australian Shepherd are also found in the smaller counterpart.
We are working to preserve the health of the Mini Aussie and strongly encourage all breeders to clear eyes and hips on all breeding stock.
