My 2 cents |

A basic overview on Banjo-Tooie |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Okay, many of you are most likely aware of Banjo-Tooie by now. Even though the current news of its release date is blank, there is still a decent amount of facts(and rumors) about this game. First, I'll talk about the major differences between Banjo-Kazooie and Banjo-Tooie. The most exciting one is the fact that the fantastic duo has the ability to split. Individualy, Banjo and Kazooie have their own move and abilities. For example, when Banjo is alone, he no longer has a bird in his backpack to worry about, so he uses it to aid in his attack, to scoop up objects, and to even breath from underwater. Kazooie, too, has her own abilities. Now that she doesn't have to drag around Banjo's weight while flying, Kazooie can fly higher and better than before. She also has her own set of moves like a wing attack and even an "attack" that hatches eggs. But the duo still is great together, and in fact throughout the game, you will need the duo in order to advance. In Tooie, the duo learns to break things with Kazooie's beak, shoot eggs more accurately(in a cool first-person view), and much more. |

Another difference is that you will be able to control of Mumbo Jumbo. At times, you will need his power in order to do things such as moving a train and making water breathable. But because of Mumbo's new playable role, he no longer transforms Banjo and Kazooie. Instead, a newcomer, Humba Wumba( the "Best Magic Person in Whole Game"), does the transforming and she is alot more confident in her magic and Mumbo ever was. She transforms you into many different animals and things, such as a dinosaur, a van, and even the good, old washing machine. She even gives you the right accessories for the job, such as torpedoes and coins. Of course, Banjo Tooie will be graphically better. In fact, Tooie will use extras, like realtime lighting, smooth textures, and a much more intellegent camera system. |

What a view! And look at those graphics |

But what will most likely attract the most buyers to the game, is its mysterious ways of interacting with Banjo-Kazooie. Once you beat Banjo-Kazooie with all 100 Jiggies, during the closing credits, Mumbo shows secerets that remain locked. The secerets are as follows: A Pink egg in Sharkfood Island at Treasure Trove Cove, an Ice key in Wozza's cave at Freezeey Peak, and a blue egg in secret room at Gobi's Valley. Not only that, Rare states that there are even more secrets in Banjo-Kazooie to unlock. Somehow, Rare has made it to where you will need to have played Banjo-Tooie in order to unlock the secrets. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Rare hasn't told how it is done yet, but many theroies have been made. Some say that the way to get the secrets is by a "Stop n' Swap" method, where the items carried over from on game to the other is temporaraly stored in the 64's RAM while you switch games while the 64 is still on. Other say that Tooie's game pak will be unike in shape and have a feature that you attach Banjo-Kazooie's game pak to Tooie in order to get BK's secrets. And others that you are given a code to enter in Banjo-Kazooie, then after you get the secret that the code unlocks, you are given another code to enter in Banjo-Tooie. Whatever the reason, I applaude Rare for keeping the ways that BK and BT interact a secret for such a long time. |

All that was mentioned above just scratches the surface af what Tooie has to offer. There is also a new multiplayer mode, minigames (sorry, there are none that use Mumbo), new bosses, and characters. There are even new types of eggs for Kazooie to shoot, such as ice eggs and timework eggs. Expect much more as time goes on. Incase you forgot anything that I said above, here is a recap(plus some things that I didn't mention). |
