Part 1
Coffee site comparison
1. The image:
The coffee image in the main page and the women image in ¡°COFFEE LOVER UNITE¡± page have the different color to the background color. It looks very incomplete. ¡æ the later one change the image color suit the background color.
2. Font face
Changing font face style in main page helps the site look more attractive and cute. It may help get visitors or users¡¯ attention and make them enjoy the site more.
3. Font and background color
¡°QUOTES FROM OLDEN TIMES ABOUT COFFEE¡± has a very dark brown background color with black font color. So. It is very hard to read the contents. The later one with white background color does look much better.
4. The contents layout
The later one has appropriate space between the title, subtitle and body contents as well. So, this change help each page look much well organized and better shape.
5. Unity
The previous one has separate page with different background and font size. It looks very messy and even doesn¡¯t look like each three separate page is related to the same site, COFFEE LOVERS UNITE. Unlikely, the other one has the same background color; this makes me not only get a very neat and simple impression but also enjoy and read the contents more easily. As concerned with the whole image and outlook of coffee sites, the original one doesn¡¯t have unity but later one does.

Good sites

*This site has obvious purpose which tends to provide lot¡¯s information about computer¡¯s function and how to use complicated programs.
*We can tell this site is for women at once because of the background colors and pretty design and layout. So they can attract users¡¯ attention and make people interested in this site.
*Even though there are pretty many images, but not look messy, rather it help users to navigate and find information easily.
*The contents are not only really interesting but also very useful.
www.npr.com (The one I found)
*First of all, this site has clear purpose which provides daily news (both written and audio service). And npr.com has very good quality contents service; for example, I haven¡¯t found any problem using downloading audio news service or visual materials. It is much differentiated with other ordinary news sites.
*It has very good and plenty of information. So this helps users get right, good information what they want easily, and good to access to other related sites or news as well.
*It looks very neat and simple because of the proper combination of colors.
Bad sites

*Though this site has pretty clear purpose the sites doesn¡¯t fit to the point. It is rather stand for computer technology than give appropriate information to visitors.

*On main page, there isn¡¯t greeting message for visitor or site map to make visitors access to information easily. There are useless five circles to link next page without showing what would be shown up when they are clicked. (Not changing colors or showing any signal makes users irritated.) This site makes me very confused and I just got lost a lot. It takes pretty long time to open new page.
Font size is not appropriate, especially the first pages. (That is absolutely illegible.) About the color: background color and the font color are too similar to distinguish. This site seems like they don¡¯t really care practical function of their real business rather care about design (computer technology), which doesn¡¯t look nice though it is supposed to be.

Nothing is there about what kind of this web site it is. They seemed that they didn¡¯t weigh the contents or easiness to look for information of the sites; it means that it has a very unclear purpose. There are too many rollover images and flash to look it over carefully and they make the sites very complicated. We should click or even set the curser near each signal to get to know it. They mainly use white and blue (background color), however the two-color combination isn¡¯t helpful for sites outlook; looks very blurry.
