| The Prophet (PBUH) said, "He who recites the Quran well and clearly is equal in rank to the Angels who record creation's deeds. These Angels are gracious, honorable and of lofty rank. He who finds difficulty in reciting the Quran will obtain a double reward." --------------------------- A house in which the Quran is recited the good increases, and more angels come into it to listen to the Quran and the Satan leave. But a house which does not recite The Quran, the angels leave it and more Satan enter it. --------------------------- Surah Al-Asr (Time) can be understood from an ice seller calling out in the market. You can see him shouting at the top of his voice. This is the meaning of: Time is witness that, surely, mankind suffers loss. --------------------------- Allah (SWT) had read Surah Ta Ha and Surah Ya Seen a thousand years before He created the creation (Man). When the angels heard the Quran they said "Blessed is the community to which it will be sent down, blessed are the minds which bear it, and blessed are the tongues which utter it. --------------------------- Surah Ya-Seen is the Heart of The Quran. --------------------------- If someone recites Surah Al-Baqarah in his house the Devil will run away from the house. --------------------------- The Prophet (PBUH) said, "Love for Surah Al-Ikhlas will become a cause of entry into Paradise." --------------------------- The Prophet said to Muadh (may Allah be pleased with him), 'Should I not teach you a supplication which, when used to implore Allah, Allah shall pay your debt, even it be as huge as Mount Uhud? He then mentioned them (i.e. Surah al Imran verse 26 & 27) --------------------------- Rasulullaah (Sallallahu alayhi wasallam) said that the one who recites the Qur'aan Kareem proficiently will be with Kiraaman Kaatibeen, and that person who reads the Qur'aan with difficulty - stopping and stammering - but is enthusiastic and keen to recite, will get double the reward. --------------------------- Rasulullaah (Sallallahu alayhi wasallam) said, "Recite the Qur'aan because on the Day of Judgement it will intercede for its reciters." --------------------------- Rasulullaah (PBUH) stated the person is not amongst us who does not recite the Qur'aan with "Tagannoo" (sweetly). --------------------------- The Prophet (PBUH) said, "The best among you are you who have learned and teach the Quran." --------------------------- Those who are concerned with the Quran are friends of Allah and are special to Him. --------------------------- Muhammad (PBUH) said, "A person who recites one Harf (letter) of the Quran, obtains one virtue; each virtue multiplies to ten virtues. I am not saying that (ALM) is one half, But, ALIF in it is one half; the LAAM in it is one half, and the MEEM in it is one half." --------------------------- The Prophet said, "The Quran was revealed in one fifth part, whoever memorized it in one fifth parts would not forget it. Except for Surah al Anam, which was revealed in it's entirety, seen off by seventy angels from each Heaven until they delivered it to the Prophet. Never has it been recited over a sick person, without Allah granting him a cure." --------------------------- Human souls become rusty just like iron gets rush, and can be polished thorough the recitation of The Quran and remembrance of Death. --------------------------- Allah will not punish a soul which memorizes, ponders over, and acts in accordance with the Quran. --------------------------- When a man reads The Quran in order to seek Allah's pleasure the angels arriving to listen to it kiss him between his two eyes paying respect to him and The Quran he is reading. --------------------------- If a man on performing the Dawn Prayer, opens The Quran and reads from it 100 verses, Allah (SWT) raises this good deed like the good deeds of the world. --------------------------- The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "A surah from the Quran containing thirty verses will intercede for a man so that he will be forgiven. It is the surah Tabaarak allaahi bi yadihi'l-mulk [i.e., Surat al-Mulk]." --------------------------- The Prophet (PBUH) said, "If a person says 100 times in one day the following, one will get the reward of setting free ten slaves, one-hundred good deeds will be written in their account and one-hundred bad deeds will be erased from their account. Also Satan won't be able to harm that person that day from morning to evening. None will be superior to them except he who does more the him i.e. 200,300 etc. The prayer is: La ilaha illah-lah wahdahu La Shareek lahu lahu-l-mulk wa lahul-hamd wa-ho-wa Ala Kulli Shain Qadeer --------------------------- It often happens a person reads The Quran and the Quran curses at him. --------------------------- If anyone comes to you for a decision decide according to the Book of Allah (SWT), if it is not there decide according to the Book Of Sunnah of the Holy Prophet (PBUH), if its not there then look to what the people agree upon or you personal opinion. --------------------------- The Holy Quran itself is a miracle, whoever reads it will be convinced that it is such a Book that could not be produced by a human being. --------------------------- A scholar has said, "The most striking feature of the Holy Quran is the reader in every age feels as if it were written specially for his time. As if it had been designed to meet the needs of mankind, all nations and countries can profit from its teaching. Arabic, the language in which the Holy Quran was revealed, is a international language and is counted among the worlds leading languages. Meanwhile the language in which the other books were written in have either become extinct or are understood by only a few." --------------------------- The Prophet (PBUH) said, "Bismillah is one of the names of Allah, and the distance between it and Allah's greatest name, is but like the distance between the black and white of the eye seen from a close angle." --------------------------- "That inimitable symphony, the very sounds of which move men to tears and ecstasy," wrote Marmaduke Pickthall, describing the Quran. "As tedious a pieces of reading as I ever undertook, a wearisome, confused jumble, crude, incondite-nothing but a sense of duty could carry any European through the Quran," was Thomas Carlyle's verdict. How could two sensitive and intelligent men of very similar backgrounds differ so markedly concerning a book everyone knows is a world classic? The answer is complicated, but it can be made simple: Pickthall read Arabic and Carlyle did not. (This shows us how much is truly is lost in the translation). Read the entire essay by James Kritzeck --------------------------- Some Muslims say regarding the translation of the Quran, "Muslims do not translate the Qur'an from Arabic as its purity is in Arabic. Translations are no more than assistance in understanding while the real task is to memorize and recite." --------------------------- A man came to the Prophet, embraced Islam then returned to his people. On his way there were a group of men who had with them a mad man in iron manacles. The group said that they heard that the traveler's friend (i.e. Prophet Muhammad) had something good with him and so he exorcised the mad man with Surah Al Fatiha, and he was cured. As reward they gave the traveler 100 sheep. He then returned to the Prophet and narrated the story. The Prophet asked if he did anything other than recite al-Fatiha, he said no. So the Prophet said that while these people make their livelihoods out of false incantations (i.e. worshipping false idols) the traveler earned the 100 sheep through something lawful; so he could keep the sheep. --------------------------- 'Ubayy bin Ka'b (R.A.) said that the Prophet (PBUH) asked him about the Greatest Ayah in the Book of Allah, and 'Ubayy answered "Allah and his Messenger know better." When the Prophet (PBUH) repeated his question several times, Ubayy (radi Allahu anhu). said "Ayat-ul-Kursi" The Prophet (PBUH) commented, "Congratulations for having knowledge, O Abu Al-Mundhir! By He in whose Hand is my soul! this Ayah has a tongue and two lips which praises the King (Allah) next to the leg of the throne." VIRTUES OF AYAT UL KURSI |
