| For a long time we didn't take photos regularly, as our camera died just when it ran out of warranty. Once in a while we borrowed a camera just to do a little bit of documentation. So here we are documenting a long story on a short page, the rudders:
The kernel of the rudders is made of foam, which is glued together around the rudder stock.
Then the shape is marked out, patterns for the different profiles are made and the rudder is shaped.
One side glassed, unis are fitted along the back before we glass it all.
Then it's antifouled, our first try with spray painting and fitted in place.
Our intention is to run SleipnirIII as much as possible on a wind vane. Despite rumours that this wouldn' work it did a perfect job on SleipnirII. This excludes hydrolic steering which wouldn't have been our first choice anyhow. We like the fun of a direct steering that let's you feel the boat. The distances between our rudders and steering stations are a bit on the long side for wire as it streches. So after a lot of evaluation we went for torque tubes and here they are:

Then we fitted the wind vane to make sure that it will run clear of the davids. Its a tight fit with the dinghi, the solar panls and the wind vane on the back beam.
Meanwhile we build the waste water tank inside
and the guest bunk

stb bow compartment finished
and we are in a hurry to glue the decks on as there is Fred poo everywhere.....
