Up

Since the wingdeck went in we spent what seems ages taping and beefing up the future stress areas of the boat (mast bulkhead, heck beam, ..).

26.01. taping the inside

For the mast bulkhead 6 layers of unis were glued from keel to keel

26.1. mast tapes

Then the balsa core needs to be taken out where skeg, rudder stock and dagger board case will be fixed. The boat is beefed up with several layers of unidirectional fiberglass there.

16.3. skeg and rudder stock base (and hoover)

Then all openings are cut out from the bulkheads, the core is routed out and the resulting gap filled with epoxy (No water should find its way into the core later as balsa rots). Then it's all tidied up and the doors are fitted but not fixed yet.

16.03. doors and doorframes

After that the bulkheads are fitted fixed and taped one after the other.

04.04. wingdeck fitting

And with most bulkheads in she starts to look smaller

04.04. front view

Then we went on a 10 day holiday and saw creatures that seem to lead a more comfortable life than we do.
