| I believe in appreciating the outdoors. It can be a fun learning experience. The reason I like it so much is because students are inside for most of the day. They need Vitamin D from the sun. They need to use all their senses to explore their world. Use your eyes to see long distances because they have been looking at things up close all day. Hear the wind and feel gentle breezes blowing your hair. Sounds like some sort of serendiptiy therapy, doesn't it, ha, ha! But seriously, school is a child's WORK and they need to chill out just like we do. |
| What's new in our class? We have a new part time counselor that we are sharing with Bethlehem School. You may know her already. She is Christine Reed, former Kindergarten teacher from right here at Hiddenite. She is studying to be a counselor . You may hear from her on our website from time to time. Do you worry you are being left behind in what schools are teaching these days? Then please take part in your child's grade level parent meeting. Some of the classes have met already. It is sort of like a mini PTO meeting. The teacher will go over that grade level expectations and often you get to interact with other same grade parents. Sometimes they have refreshments! |
