Birthplace: Small mountain cothold near Telgar Weyr
Location: Mirror Lake Weyr
Occupation/Rank: Bronzerider /Herder

Physical Description

L'nal is small of stature, but has come late to puberty. He has some growth still to go. He stands at only 5'4" and is slim in build. He has light blond hair that is always in disarray. He has very light but piercing blue eyes that seem too large for his face, surrounded by long white eyelashes. He has fair skin with a smattering of pale freckles across nose and cheeks and the top of his shoulders. He has straight white teeth and when he smiles gives off an innocent, sweet ambiance.

Personality

L'nal is quiet, but not shy. He likes to listen to conversations, but rarely joins in them. He has a lovely tenor singing voice, though the herds of his father's hold are about the only ears that have heard him. He has a natural confidence and makes no excuses for what he does or says. He is a fair boy and has a tender heart, especially for animals. He has a huge amount of patience and no temper to speak of. When he does get angry about something, he barks out his feelings and then satisfied, forgets the incident.

Background History

Lynal is the second son of Nalan, a small cotholder and his spouse, Lyneela. He grew up tending the herds of runnerbeasts his father raises in the shadow of Telgar Weyr. Lynal would most often be found sitting on a boulder singing to the runnerbeasts or chewing on a grass frond, day dreaming. It was thought, when Lynal turned 12, to apprentice him to the harpercraft. But that was not to be. Lynal's older brother was hurt by a spooked runnerbeast and Lynal had to take over Lornor's duties.

It was a turn later that Nalan was approached by a searchrider and it turned out that Lynal was who he was interested in. Nalan left the decision up to Lynal and with a heavy heart (but a secret yearning), Lynal accepted search. Lynal thought that the rider was from Telgar Weyr, but instead he was from Mirror Lake Weyr. So, as Lynal experienced his first ride a dragonback, so he experienced his first glimpse of the ocean.

Candidacy was overwhelming to the young boy who was so used to being alone in the meadows of his father's hold, with only the runnerbeasts as company. He excelled in the classes, but found making friends daunting. It was when the hatching happened that Lynal's world changed dramatically. The first to impress, L'nal felt lucky to be picked by a dragon to begin with and was certainly not expecting a large bronze to chose him. As his feet burned, L'nal found himself face to face with a very dark and imposing hatchling whose first act was to knock him down demanding food. Now, six months later, L'nal has finally adjusted to having a presence in his head and filling his very being with love and acceptance. Weyrlinghood, so far, had been a rough road for the pair. L'nal's had to make adjustments in his personality to accommodate Kinath's aggressive behavior. Many a time has L'nal had to exert pressure on Kinath to learn their lessons instead of doing what the young dragon pleases.

Dragon Info

Name: Kinath
Color: Bronze
Age: Under a year (From Lillith's clutch, hatched 10.19.1285)

Description

Kinath is a large bronze, though he still has a turn to mature. His hide shimmers in such a dark way as to look as if shadows are constantly traveling across his body. He has a tremendous wingspan that will most likely make him cumbersome in the air, though his stamina in fighting thread will be hard for other dragons to keep up. His body is bulky and muscular, though he is not clumsy or ungainly. He has a very aggressive personality and most often than not, gets his way. He is overly confident to the point of being cocky and L'nal has to bring him down a peg or two on occasion. He is extremely aware that he is a bronze and therefore (in his mind anyway) must be a leader and be obeyed. He has a very bad habit of bullying the other dragonets of his class into doing what he wants them to do, no matter what color they are, though he is not so bold with the adult dragons. He has a temper and is loud when he is angry. L'nal never knew how much his propensity for patience would be needed in the nurturing of this young bronze.
