Physical Description

Nashat is extremely boyish in appearance with little hope of ever filling out. Her body in general is bird-like. She is thin as a rail and wiry with it. A scrapper, it is of no surprise to anyone that her calves and forearms are covered with numerous scars that she gained from falling and fighting. The most notable scars she has one the ones on her face. Nashat has a distinct scar going from the bottom of her lip down under her chin. There is then the other one that drags from the inner corner of her eye and across her forehead, ending up in her scalp. This scar was lucky enough to allow hair to grow around in, but as often happens with people that lose hair and then grow it back, the hair lost in that area is several shades darker than her surrounding hair. Thus, her light dirty blond hair is streaked at one point with a much darker, almost brown-blond hint. Her skin is darkly tanned expect for the areas where she has scarring. Nashat's face is highly angular and her eyes are big and green, nearly swallowing up the whole of her face. Her hair is short and shaggy and often in the way of them, but when they are cleared by hair, they shine brightly and are the most attractive part of her.

Personality

One of the boys, Nashat is loud-mouthed and proud of being a cotholder's bratling. She is extremely prideful and possessive, both of friends and physical possessions. The gang of young boys she hung out with were always seen as being "her boys", especially in regards to her right-hand man Kioli. Jealous and quick to anger, Nashat rules her friends and allies with an iron fist. If she ever became someone of authority, she would be feared as a tyrant. Nashat is one of those types of people that nearly go into a panic when they are not in charge of a situation. Though she is a little tyrant, she is more bluster than anything. She would never be afraid to back up words with a strike, but she does it just enough to make sure people listen. Half the other ridiculous threats she makes, such as pulling of someone's pubic hairs one at a time, are just that... ridiculous threats that she would never really act on. But since she is fierce, Nashat is often obeyed to avoid a potentially stunning blow.

Background History

Unlike many of her other affairs, Nashat's mother Losha managed to get someone that was well adjusted with their sexuality. Nashat was born out of a rather fond union between Losha and a fellow brownrider, N'sirin. The two were long time friends before coming together after a green's flight in which they both lost Nashat was actually kept for a couple years and raised by Losha and N'sirin until she was three. At that time, the two suffered a split in their relationship that caused differences between them that could not be solved. Losha was not prepared to raise a child by herself and decided to foster Nashat with the family she fostered her other two children with.

But the damage was already done. Nashat didn't bond properly with her foster family though she was fond of all the members. For that matter as well, she didn't bond with her blood siblings as well. Though her foster family cared for her, they cared more about her happiness, thus she was allowed to run free and do as she willed. It was no problem for them when she spent more time down with those of lower ranks.

There was one family she bonded well with. One day at the age of seven turns, she stumbled and took a hard fall, splitting her chin open. The first one to the scene was a woman by the name of Delanan. Delanan was almost immediately latched onto by Nashat, who liked the rough type of love Delanan gave to her children. Delanan was a woman who believed in raising children with a balance of nature and nurture. She was there for when her children needed her, but otherwise she left them to her own devices. Nashat found this type of love to be exactly what she needed and soon began seeking out Delanan for comfort and mothering. In her mind, Delanan was more of a foster mother than Shada or Portas could be. She still obeyed the two women when she had to, but other than that, she would leave as soon as possible to be around Delanan.

Delanan's son Kioli ended up being her best friend. He was a bit of a loud-mouth as well but subservient to her wishes. Not only, but he was truly a caring friend. Kioli defended her when other brats tried to beat her down. Nashat, because of that, became very loyal to Kioli. She spent a lot of time talking to him about her plans for the future and everything that she wanted to do in her life. As a very young girl she was very ambitious. She went back and forth between many ideas. One day she wanted to Impress a gold and rule the weyr. Another day she wanted to marry a Holder and help rule a hold. The next day she would want to Impress a brown and lead a wing. It all depended on her mood, but most of her wants circled around being a dragonrider. In all her dreams, Kioli was her second man, a role he always seemed willing to play.

It was frightening for her when people started talking about her family killing her sister Gersha. She had been innocent of the affair and soon to protect her own reputation, she took to fighting with a vengeance. Even older children were hesitant to fight her unless speed or strength was completely on their side. Or if they at least had greater numbers.

Nashat was Searched the first time with her siblings, but she almost go the Search token taken away from her because of how she reacted to the second Search. The Searchrider from Mirror Lake Weyr made the mistake of landing between a turf war happening between a group of Nashat's friends and an opposing group of cotholder brats. Nashat was so angered that she had lost the chance to beat down the other brats that she went up and actually made the mistake of verbally attacking the Searchrider. It wasn't until the Searchrider threatened to not take her that Nashat quieted down. The only demand was that the Searchrider take a look at Kioli. Nashat did not want to go anywhere without Kioli by her side. The Searchrider, after some consideration, declared Kioli a very unique young man and acceptable for Search.

Dragon Info

Name: Torpith

Color: Blue

Age: Hatchling (4.20.1286)

Description

Torpith is on the small end of the size spectrum for blues. He is strongly built with powerful limbs and wings, but he is simply small. As an adult, he will have to struggle and stretch to even maybe reach forty feet in length. What he lacks in size is made up for in speed. Torpith easily matches most greens when it comes to speed and agility in the air. He is not a show-off, but when he wants to or needs to, he can pull off very tricky maneuvers in the air. Though he is graceful in the air, he is fairly clumsy on the ground, which is not an unusual thing for dragons. A rather delicate shade of slate blue, he is not the most impressive when it comes to markings. He has more of an understated beauty than most other dragons. His markings are faded and blend in well with his hide. Torpith has some faintly darker splotches of color to be found on his haunches and along his back and ridges. Lighter slate-blue streaks can be found along the underside of his wing sails and along his tail.

Torpith has a quiet, firm personality. Sensible and level-headed, he has to direct his rider Nashat in many things. Nashat is the one with the loud voice and aggressive demeanor while Torpith is the one with the gentle words and guiding manner. Though he is a blue, he could someday make a good leader. He deals with dragons and humans in an even and fair manner even when he would much rather metaphorically bite their heads off. He understands the need for subtlety and gentleness. Thus Torpith is forever giving his rider advice on how to handle different situations. Whether she follows the advice or not is not something he can control but he can at least give himself some piece of mind by knowing that he tried to make his rider understand why not all people react kindly to threats. Torpith, unless Nashat is in danger, tends to react to tense situations with a cool-head, preferring that everyone try and talk out what's going on rather than jump to hasty conclusions and regrettable actions. Torpith will probably develop late in regards to sexuality. Nashat is not a sexual person and Torpith just might be the one to open her up to sex. He tends to shy away from flirting, tending to look at female dragons more in a sisterly way than in a lover type of way. This is most likely due to Nashat's behavior than his own behavior. But this will probably only last for so long. Like males of all other species, a dragon can only go so long before giving into the mating instinct. This will require Torpith to change his attitude about the greens and golds around him. Until then, Torpith prefers to settle into a type of leadership role even though these roles are often reserved for gold, bronze, and brownriders. Though he is not the sort that is easily frustrated, Torpith is somewhat annoyed by the fact that the larger colors are traditionally given more chances to excel. In his mind, just like in Nashat's mind, they are the perfect pair and even though he might not be able to help her achieve all her outlandish dreams, he will do his best.
