Physical Description

S'luis is a man's man. He's that rugged kind of handsome, with a square jaw and a nose that looks like it's been broken at least once from doing manly things. He wears his light brown hair short and, occasionally, spiked, and his dark brown eyes are serious. He has even white teeth and a winning smile in unblemished skin. S'lius stands at an even six feet and weighs in about about 14 stone, all of which is pure muscle.

Personality

It's not that S'lius believes women are inferior, just that they have their place, and it's different from his, and he likes them best when they're there. He's not a misogynist, just a traditionalist. Beyond that, he's intelligent, clever, and a natural leader. People like to follow pretty people, and S'lius is certainly that. He's very good at maintaining the distance between himself and those under him, but keeps close friends among his equals.

Background History

S'lius, born Senlius, lived his entire childhood in a dream of dragonriding. Like so many Hold children, he was raised on the lore of great riders doing great things, and spent many happy hours playing Dragonriders with his friends, where he was always a wingleader with his mighty bronze, Death. Even at the age of 14, when he was Searched for Igen Weyr, Senlius was primed for marraige and a happy Holder's life. Instead, he impressed bronze Ruslath and was given a chance to live the dream he'd had for as long as he could remember.

As a dragonrider, S'luis rose quickly through the ranks to power and became Weyrlingmaster at 21, when the former WLM stepped down. He was extremely young for the position, and so was watched very carefully, but proved himself easily and definately. Over his eight turns as Igen's Weyrlingmaster, he not only saw nearly a half-dozen clutches of dragonriders reach thier blooding, he also trained two assistants to his level of proficiency. Thus, when Mirror Lake old Weyrlingmaster stepped down and their only option for his replacement was a young female bluerider, Igen's Weyrleadership acceded to a request to send their capable young Weyrlingmaster, since he could leave two equally capable riders in his place.

Mirror Lake was well warned about S'lius' attitudes, and as a result of his potential conflicts with their Weyr lifestyle, was transferred in as Weyrlingmaster Second. S'lius sees this as a temporary assignment, and will still perform his duties to the best of his ability until he can take what he believes is his rightful place.
