Katy came to live with us at the tender
age of three months. She taught us how to laugh at the funny things Shelties do, such as,
herding our children when they were babies as she had no real sheep of her own; Barking at
the squirrels as if she could cause them to fall - they loved to tease her by jumping from
the apple tree to the picket fence and back. She loved chasing seagulls at the beach and
riding in bow of the boat at the lake. Ducks were a favorite target and diving for one in
a stream one time caused us to nearly lose her. She loved bicycle tires and any kind of
ball. She was a wonderful show-dog as well as a wonderful mother in the brood box.
She produced for us Mirthaven Loves Labours lost(ptd), Mirthaven Ticket To Win(ptd),
Mirthaven One Way Ticket,(Too many darn RWD's!) Mirthaven Tell It Like It Is, all
currently in the showring.

Her favorite person was Taylor, who grew
up alongside her. Taylor shared a room with Katy and drew the above picture while she
slept one night beside him. We all love Katy very much and are glad she was instrumental
in getting us on the wonderful road of showing and being owned by Shelties as we travel
through life! She was truly the foundation of Mirthaven and will be sorely missed.
