TOP TEN BOOKS

This list is the approximate ranking of my favorite books. All of them are a must for anyone striving to become like me (I don't know why anybody wouldn't). The titles are either in English or Russian, depending on the language that I read them in, regardless of the book's original language. Russian books are marked, yes, indeed... with a . Below these excellent titles is my list of the 10 worst books of all time.
  1. Lord of the Rings, J.R.R. Tolkien         "One ring to rule them all, one ring to find them"
    The greatest fantasy novel of all time is the classic of the genre. Often copied, never duplicated. Click on the picture for an awesome collection of Tolkien-inspired art.
  2. Trudno byt' bogom, Arkady & Boris Strugazkiy        
    This is, in my opinion, the best science fiction novel of all time. The link is a Russian site about Strugazkiy's works.
  3. Master & Margarita, Mihail Bulgakov         "Nikogo ne trogayu, pochinyu primus"
    This cool novel is a source of many funny quotes that I like.
  4. Na zapadnom fronte bez peremen,(All Quiet On The Western Front), Erich Maria Remarque
    The most powerful novel I have read, a great anti-war work.
  5. Voina y Mir (War & Peace), Leo Tolstoy
    This is truly an epic, one of the few "classics" that I like.
  6. Piknik na Obochine, Arkady & Boris Strugazkiy         "Schastye dlya vseh, darom, i pust' nikto ne uidet obizhennym"
    Another excellent science fiction work which combines great adventure with deep philosophical meaning (or something). The link is a Russian site about Strugazkiy's works.
  7. Tri musketera (The Three Musketeers), Alexandre Dumas         "Odin za vseh, i vse za odnogo"
    Classic adventure story, a childhood favorite.
  8. Dnevniki Iona Tichogo, Stanislaw Lem        
    One of the funniest books you will ever read.
  9. Ponedelnik nachinaetsya v subbotu, Arkady & Boris Strugazkiy        
    Another really funny book from one of my favorite writers. The link is a Russian site about Strugazkiy's works.
  10. Communist Manifesto, Karl Marx, Friedrich Engels         "Proletariats of all countries, unite!"
    Just kidding

  1. ALL ROMANCE NOVELS
        They deserve to be burned
  2. Elfstones of Shannara, Terry Brooks
        In a genre of ripoffs, Brooks still manages to rip off everything. Features such gems of fantasy as "Mountains of the Skull", and "The Tree of Life".
