~CHAPTER SEVEN~
SNAPE MANOR

"Is Mr. Potter ready for his tour?" Daisy asked, smiling shyly at the young man in front of her.

Harry smiled back. "Yes. Will you please call me Harry? I haven't liked being called 'Mr. Potter' since Severus started calling me that in my first year at Hogwarts!"

Daisy grinned shyly. "Of course, Harry. Let's see...We can start upstairs, since we're already here." Harry followed Daisy out the door and down the hall. "Well, let's start with this wing. This is the northern wing of the house. There are three wings, the east and west wings being the others. The house itself faces south. There are three stories to the Manor, as well as an attic that covers the entire house. This wing used to be home to Severus' parents before their deaths ten years ago. No one has occupied this wing since then. Now, all of the doors on the right side belong to spare bedrooms and their accompanying sitting rooms. However, here on the left side, there are only six doors. One of the doors in your bedroom leads to another room, a sitting room for entertaining guests and such. You can get to the sitting room from the hall through this door right here," Daisy told him, opening the door. He and Daisy walked inside and Harry gasped.

The sitting room was large, though not nearly as large as the accompanying bedroom. There were two sofas inside the room, accompanied by matching chairs. There was a fireplace as well. The decor was much the same as Harry's room next door.

Daisy led Harry out of the room and down the hallway. She motioned to the next door. "This is a bathroom for your guests to use, so they do not have to use your personal bathroom. These two doors," Daisy continued, motioning to the two doors to the left of the bathroom, "are rooms storing many antiques that are not currently displayed inside the Manor. You can explore them later, if you wish. Now this," Daisy said, opening the final door on the left side of the hallway, "is the weaponry room. All of the weapons save the few that are in the gym are stored here."

Harry's jaw dropped at the massive amount of weapons scattered across the walls of the huge room. The room was the same size as his sitting room, and each wall was covered with various weapons: swords of various sizes and styles, battle axes, lances, spears, bows and crossbows. There were also various display cases throughout the room containing knives, daggers, arrows and more delicate ancient weaponry.

"Wow!" Harry said, looking around. He would have to come back to this room, and soon. Almost all of his spare time during his fifth year at Hogwarts was spent studying the art of sword fighting and archery. It had been exhaustive, but a lot of fun, and since Dumbledore had insisted upon the practice, Harry had gotten into it. Dumbledore kept telling him how important it was to be able to protect oneself in any situation, and now Harry was eager to practice what he'd learned.

Harry reluctantly allowed Daisy to guide him out of the room, and they were now facing the east wing. "That is Mr. Snape's wing, we won't go there. The west wing is merely rooms, and storage areas. Not a lot there. The same with upstairs. The Snapes used to have lots of friends and family, and needed all the spare rooms. It's been long since visitors have come. Mr. Snape does not spend much time here. Come, let's go downstairs."

They descended the marble staircase and stood in the front hall. They headed down the east wing of the first floor, and Daisy continued the tour.

"This room," she said, opening the first door on the left-hand side of the wing, "is the gym." Harry walked inside and fell in love. The room was massive, obviously taking up much of the left side of the east wing. There was every conceivable piece of gym equipment available to wizards and muggles alike, as well as a built in track. Weapons graced the walls all around. Harry gasped to see that the far end of the room was home to an Olympic-sized indoor swimming pool. Harry loved to swim and he couldn't wait to dive in.

Daisy noticed where Harry's attention lay. "If Harry so desires, I can provide you some swimming trunks."

"Yes, thank you. Now I think we should leave before I forget myself and dive in with all my clothes on!"

They left and entered the door opposite the gym. This was the living room that he and Severus had portkeyed into earlier. They walked down the hall to the second and last door on the right. Daisy opened the door to reveal the library. The room covered the rest of the right side of the east wing. The bookcases covered every wall from floor to ceiling. Harry could see sliding ladders attached to the bookshelves, so that the topmost books could be reached. The center of the library contained chairs and sofas, as well as smaller tables, a couple of these holding wizards chess sets.

They left the east wing and went down the north wing. Here lie the large kitchen and the servants' quarters, as well as the large dining room with a table big enough to seat thirty. Daisy took him into the kitchen to greet the rest of the staff of Snape Manor. Harry greeted them cheerfully, and everyone was very polite. Once the elves learned all of Harry's favorite dishes and his least favorite, Daisy took him to the west wing. There were several different rooms: a game room, surprisingly an entertainment room containing a large television, a VCR and DVD player, movies, a stereo, and hundreds of videos and CDs.

/My, my Severus, you are a surprise/ Harry thought as he walked into the last room. Harry smiled. It was a music room. There were many instruments and bookcases full of sheet music, but what caught his eye were the several acoustic guitars and the large, black grand piano.

"Does Harry know how to play any instruments?" Daisy asked, noticing his interest in the guitars and piano.

"I can play both guitar and piano," Harry told her.

"Very good. No one plays much. Mr. Snape can play piano and violin, but he does not play too often. There is much outside to see: the stables, the lake, many horse trails around the woods surrounding the Manor, but it is getting late, and Daisy must help with dinner. Harry should take the guitar with him if he wishes. The strings are spelled not to break or rust, so you don't have to worry about that."

"Thank you, Daisy. I think I will." Harry grabbed the guitar that had caught his eye first thing and took it with him back up to his sitting room. He didn't bother to close his door as he sat down on a chair and started tuning the guitar.
