Gnomes of Rhunaria believe in concepts, forces, and philosophies, so have clerics, druids, monks, paladins, rangers, shugenja, and sohei, but no shamans or samurai.  Lizardfolk believe only in nature, the elements, and fate, so they have clerics, druids, monks, rangers, and shugenja, but no shamans, sohei, paladins, or samurai.  Halflings, kobolds, and elves believe in spirits and some sorts of greater spirits, so they have clerics, druids, rangers, and shamans but of those only halflings and sea elves have paladins, and of them only halflings have monks and sohei, plus only halflings and kobolds have shugenja, but none of the three have samurai.

Orcs are a varied bunch, and some recognize deities while others believe in spirits, and others believe in strange forces or beings, so orcs can be clerics, druids, rangers, shamans, or shugenja, but not monks, paladins, samurai, or sohei.  Goblinoids venerate a pantheon, divided into bugbear, goblin, and hobgoblin deities, but they also recognize some spirits, so they have clerics, rangers, and shamans, but no druids, monks, paladins, samurai, shugenja, or sohei, except that a few hobgoblins in service to one of their deities become monks or sohei.  Dwarves have a pantheon of their own, and become either clerics, druids, monks, paladins, rangers, samurai, or sohei, but never shamans or shugenja.

Rizan humans venerate an entire pantheon but often focus on one pharaoh-deity, so they have clerics, monks, paladins, and sohei, but no druids, rangers, samurai, shamans, or shugenja.  Gildens worship deities in their own pantheon, each devoted to one deity primarily, and thus they have some clerics, druids, paladins, and rangers, but no monks, samurai, shamans, shugenja, or sohei.  Tashi believe in a plethora of spirits, of varying magnitude in importance and power, so they have monks, paladins, rangers, samurai, shamans, shugenja, and sohei, but not clerics or druids.  Tribal humans believe in various spirits, totems, and forces, so they have druids, rangers, shamans, and shugenja, but no clerics, monks, paladins, samurai, or sohei.





Note: Characters may, in very rare circumstances, acquire a class that their race normally doesn't have any training or talent for, but few members of any race will teach their traditional skills to members of other races.  For instance, once every few centuries a lizardfolk may be raised by people of another race and taught to become a paladin or sorcerer, but lizardfolk societies themselves have no concept of paladins and they abhor arcane magic as an abomination.  Also, note that the War Domain of Shamans has a slightly different Granted Power than the War Domain of Clerics, as detailed in the 3rd Edition Oriental Adventures book.  Lastly, note that Prestige Domains are available only to certain prestige classes, as detailed in the Defenders of the Faith book.
