Vash the Stampede is the main character of the series. He is refered to as the Humanoid Typhoon. He sports a red trench coat and yellow tinted sunglasses. The first description of Vash, makes sound like an evil being who just wants to kill people. But the real Vash is the opposite of this.

Nicholas D. Wolfwood is known as the Preacher. He carries a huge cross which is his main weapon. The two short sides open and reveal a row of pistols. The long side is a machine gun and the top is a rocket launcher. Him and Vash become friends but later in the series you find out that he was sent to watch Vash and then kill him.
