Macross 7 is a series which takes place after the epic war between the Zentraedi race and the Human race. Both Human and Zentraedi kind have learned to live together. They join as one big nation and most of the Zentraedi under go micronization to better interact with Humans.

The races have started to rebuild and explore with the use of Cities which fly in space exploring the galaxy. The Cities have both a main part with buildings and also a battle ship at the front which is connected (can be disconnected in fights). This series is showcased at such a place and its called City 7.

The main character Basara Nekki lives a board the city. He is the lead vocaliste for the musical group Fire Bomber. Other members are Mylene Jenius the back up vocaliste, Ray Lovelock on the keyboard and Veffidas on drums. Fire Bomber is just a small time band and Basara is a owner of VF-19 Valkyre. City 7 travels through space and is attacked by a unknown enemy which seems to be putting Battle ship 7's pilots in a deep sleep. Basara jumps into his VF-19 Valkyre and pilots towards the battle and sings his song to the enemy. It appears the enemy is scared of the song and run off. This is were the story beguns.
